I'm currently doing a few repairs. That O/S front wing has been straighten out a little, while I wait on a replacement. Put some dash bulbs in too, so I can see whats going on at night!

Still needs cleaning though!

Doesn't look too bad. I like the BX sticker on the door - only seen one of those once here in Germany.

What's the history of this car and what sort of mileage has it got? I suppose it's got the tweed interior too?

The gentleman I bought it from purchased the car in 1988 and gave me the newspaper with the ad to prove it! 33,000 miles and £5,000 at the time. It had been his main car and family workhorse since then, going to the Alps a couple of times on holiday. Its on 177,000 miles now. He gave me a stack of bills for parts, but mainly did the work himself. He now owns a 17 Turbo, as well as a Visa and Traction.

It did have 16v seats in it, but I've put the (faded!) grey/white tweed seats back in.

I've got to see our local signwriting about the BX sticker, as it would be a shame to lose it when the inevitable paintwork is done.

What sort of condition is the piping in? Did the previous owner replace any of them? Being the earlier non-plastic coated variety they are quite succeptible.

My local signwriters make up the engine bay stickers and have made up my sidestripe for the SD1 when it was painted, any decent local graphics company SHOULD be able to sort it. Or you could just sell it to me instead

The pipes all look as though they have been done. One or two looked a bit wet when I got the car, but all sorted now.

The signwriter is coming down to do my brother's GSA Service next week, so I'll get him to weigh the job up and go from there.

Tim, I'll let you know........

Now part of my fleet, thanks to Dom for sticking to his word and giving me first refusal, it drives better than it looks (thank god) and will need LOTS of TLC!

I had a brand new front bumper which I gave away with my MK1 when I sold it  the reason I let all the MK1 stuff go was so that I'd NEVER be tempted to buy another.

But that's going to take some polishing  Look forward to seeing it soon :D

What manner of BX was that - any pics?

I know someone who's selling a new Mk.1 bumper just 'over the river' in France. Logistically a bit complicated..
