Rare in the UK but I'd say half the BX's on the road in France are Millesimes as they were a full production model with pretty much every engine available. Good save though, they are one of the best looking models.

Well its home safe and sound and on the drive. Ive pressure washed it down but it was starting to get dark so gave it up till the morning. Wont start and theres no clutch (pedal to the floor) so im hoping its just the cable.

Did you take the old man with you again? He seems to be into the whole thing too!

I noticed that you removed the list of your BXs from your signature Richard - was that because it's now so huge there was a risk it would crash the website? I like to have a joke but good work chief!

Bought some battery terminals this morning, put a battery on and she fired straight up,pumped up and sounds lovely.
Downside is i thought i could get away with a clutch cable as the pedal is on the floor but closer inspection i think the clutch may have collapsed.

Never heard of that but then again with that miles plus I dont imagine they would have been very gentle with it in the breakers yard. has the cable snapped?

Is it the clutch, or has the fork failed? You don't hear about it so much these days but clutch fork failure used to quite common if the car was run with a worn clutch

Dont know for sure. How can i tell if the fork has failed without yanking the gearbox out anyway ?Clutch "arm" can be freely moved back and forth with no apparent clutch pressure by hand.Cable hasnt failed which was my 1st idea.

That sounds like the release bearing has gone through the fingers on the clutch pressure plate.
If it has, or hasn't it still means pulling the gearbox out.
Get yourself a complete clutch kit, as if you are going to this much trouble, you don't want to repeat it again in a hurry!
