That Lancia Gamma is very nice...

SM - my dream car. I love Opron's shapes, and it just does it for me...

Alfa - my brother just swapped his 2.5 v6 166 to get his 3.9 Disco back. He plans to buy the 3.2 166 when he sells his Beemer, though he has been looking at Audis. I think the 166 is a gorgeous car:

One of my favourite Alfas remains the Alfetta GTV6:

There are some videos on YouTube of these cars - a fabulous Italian snarly but tuneful engine... deliciosa!

Yes indeed! The 166 what a beauty - why on earth did all those execs still go for a German car with that bit of Italian elegance on offer?!

For me the SM is really the paragon of automotive gloriousness - even if some one gave me a Ferrari GT250 worth a million quid, I'd flog it, spend 25 grand on the best SM i could find and use the change to keep it on the road for a few months!

But then of course there's a Chapron DS decapotable, a DS23 EFi Pallas, a CX gti turbo two, an XM V6 and . . .

For bargain basement style I think this is a lovely design - the Peugeot 406 Coupe. Under a grand now for a good petrol - bit more for the Hdi (loathed as I am to trumpet the merits of PSA!) The design was possibly going to be used for a Xantia Activa Coupe - a fantastic sounding car that sadly never happened.

the 406 coupe would be a good smoker. never realised they had come down that far. designed by pininfarina? nice set of rims with a tasteful interior and cool comes free.

Yes, I quite like some of the Peugeot's too (but don't tell my Citroen's - they'll sulk.)

One "guilty pleasure" car on my list:

Anyone else want to share with the group?

Always liked these since my uncle had one.

Gorgeous:

My dad had one of these and now I can see how brave the design was,

A few more: (sadly revealing an unhealthy interest in older BMWs!)

But there's also another Lancia - the Beta - I love:

and

Oh and…

...there's a bit of a 'theme' emerging here.

I secretly like the Pontiac too.... :)

There's one on ebay for £145 LOL

I remember when my dad bought a Humber Hawk, there's a real one on ebay at the moment (2,340 views !!)
After the Humber Hawk he bought an Austin 1800, then after that a Citroen GS !!

406 coupe . . . designed by pininfarina?
It was. Originally Pininfarina produced it for Ferrari as a 'sensible' 2+2 coupe - Ferrari didn't go ahead with the project so PSA had it instead. I think 3 grand or so is the most you'll pay for one now - a late plate low mileage Hdi in really good condition. Bargain (if you don't mind driving Peugeot!)

The BMW 635 csi has always been in my top ten - just about perfect. As for the Alfa Montreal what can you say except; ' I'll take it, here's the keys Jeeves park it and don't scratch it!

Here's a few favourites mostly from my 'in your dreams' category - except perhaps for the RO80 - a car years ahead of it's time that deserved to do much better than it did - and the Classic/Capri; I'm not sure Fords ever got any better than that?

now thats very true

I owned that car many moons ago (1980 ish ) and like many of my cars ,wish I had never sold it,
it was a 2000GXL the best mk3 ever made ,
my mate worked at one of those production line respray centres that sprung up at the time ( think they were called texan or something ) and he took her in as an "after hours" job,

six coats of paint and the same of lacquer later she came back looking better than the day she came off the production line all for £150.00

I didn't like the Cortina at the time as I had an Ami Super which was not quite a match for the Cortina, so I got a DS23 EFI and left them behind every time ...LOL

But now I think they're quite good cars
