Hmm, they definitely seem to be breeding around here at the moment.
Needs an MOT, but should hopefully go on the road soonish to give me a chance to sort out the loose feeling front end on mine, that I originally planned to do earlier this year...
In other news, just returned from a great holiday in France and Germany. Cracking weather - for the first few days the forecast was 35/36 degrees C although we saw a couple of signs that indicated 41 and 42.5 degrees! The van was as reliable as ever and did around 2500 miles with no issues.
First night camping in some woodland
Engen in Germany
A very rare extra rear seat option in a BX, fitted to a certain yellow Break. Not ideal for adults but I did manage a trip of about 10 miles in the back!
Not one but two window louvres in Todd's barn!
Lake Constance
Drinking wine in an inflatable boat as the sun goes down, could life get any better?
Nice looking French cafe
Another cracking camping spot!
One of the few BXs we saw - he came and parked by us, not the other way around!
Rather expensive bottle, and surely past the best before date?
Anybody recognise this car?

Went to the Stratford show at the weekend and had a great time, arriving just after the monsoon rain! A very chilled evening listening to tunes by the barbecue, although the images of the mankini incident should probably not be shown on a public forum...
And then on the way back, another milestone was passed...
...nearly!
Made it!
Unfortunately when it rolled over the first 100k miles I did not have a camera handy, but I'll try and remember it for 300k.
I also think I'm starting to get the hang of this economy driving thing - I managed 53mpg on the trip including sitting in traffic in Stratford! Basically the thing is to avoid any kind of driving that could be construed as being fun, and you'll save a few quid...

I'm afraid hypermiling isn't as much fun as putting your foot down. However, you do learn how to got as quickly as you can whilst using mimimum revs, i just rev the car normally to 2k as i set off from lights until i get it into 5th gear & then in my n/a just stick to 3000rpm on the motorways. It gets easier the longer you can practice it, but i agree at 1st you just think whats the point, however if you can get 10mpg more per mile it does save a fair bit of money over time.
No idea what i got going to Stratty & back, but not far of 60mpg i reckon
Oh, another benefit is that your tyres last longer & don't forget to slow down for those bends & you feel less stressed as well, which is always a benefit in my book.

Recently I've been replacing bits on the 106, to get it through an MOT. I've done the front brake pads, stripped and cleaned the calipers, front wishbone bushes and replaced the passenger door lock. I thought it would be an idea to take it out for a quick test run last night to bed the new front pads in. The rear brakes didn't feel 'quite right' when we set off, but I put that down sitting idle for a month.. But no, at the furthest point from home the brake pedal went down a long way and started pulsing, there was an awful noise from one of the rear drums, and very little braking effect as the front pads were not yet very effective. And it was all downhill from here.....
A cautious drive back then followed by quickly pulling the drum off revealed a surprising lack of friction material on the shoes - it had fallen off!
