I'm 99% sure I have (at least) a pair of usable headlamps so assuming they're not all LH you can take one next time you're up here. Same with strut tops.

Thanks Tim! I'll have to plan a trip over to see you regarding doors/interior/headlamps! Just about to undergo some major house renovation though, so probably not imminently as I've nowhere to put anything.

I would advise that you check the rubber around the strut top. These can perish and have been known to allow th strut to come through the bonnet.

AEP used to sell the strut tops on their own, but expensive at GBP80

Thanks folks. Hopefully the ever-capable Mr Fenwick can sort me out.

In the meantime, after a successful leak-free test drive, I decided to drop the oil and change the filter. Promptly dropped the sump plug washer in the oil pan. I think I'll just buy some new ones! I usually just anneal them.

Quick query on height correctors. The front seems a little low at the moment and while it raises nicely to full height, it doesn't seem to want to move to the intermediate setting at all. Back end behaves itself. Do they need lubing up?

I thought this was only possible on the Xantia?

Something else to check, I too also thought it was Xantia/XM only, cheers Neil.

Oil and filter change completed. Glad to see that for the first time since I collected this car, there's as much coolant in it as there was the last time I checked! Found one of the fir tree clips, so inner wing cover is back on.

Quite tempted to use the BX for a trip to The Midlands tomorrow (though it is for the 2CV club AGM!) but the accumulator sphere is clearly completely flat. Maybe it wouldn't be very fair on the pump.

I'll definitely use the BX on Tuesday for a visit to Mr Fenwick, but I know he's got a spare sphere, so hope to change that for the trip home (have I told you about that yet Mr F?!)

Ian

Where in the midlands are you, just wondering about headlamps if you are near me?

Hatton near Warwick Tim. Mat has managed to find a RH headlamp for me though. The wobbly one fitted at the moment seems to be holding!
