Anyway, I don't have moobs I have pecs, and used to have a 6 pack too, but all this last year uni business has put shot to that - no time for gymming etc...

I was thinking Jessica Simpson stylee from her video 'these boots are made for walking' (hence the boots, short shorts etc)

Anyway .....

Paul: nice car, nice pics, nice blog. It's a shame I wasn't able to call in on the way back from Lincoln. I'll definitely pop along to Burghley.

Yeah, brilliant idea! And we could have a wet T-shirt competition and a prize for the best pair of 'moobs'? :D :D (but then again - maybe not)

I really like Paul's Hurricane, i'm not a fan of green, but even i would put up with that colour though  :D I've seen it in the flesh quite a few times now, & whilst its not mint, it is pretty good for having the mileage on it. I know Paul is planning on really going to town on this car & tbh it deserves it, they are very rare & look ace.

Can't wait to see that TGD again, as it looked pretty good when i last saw it at Wetherby, so knowing Paul, it'll be looking even better than last time :D

The 'gearbox problems' on the TGD are now sorted. Was it the linkages? No. Was the synchromesh/selector type thingamajigs? No. What was it then? It was what you might call, 'a spanner in the works' or more precisely a chisel! Shaun left it in there when he did the welding and it managed to slip down and (what you might call) compromise gear selectability. Don't you wish all repairs were that easy (and cheap!)? :D

Apparently not. I took it for a bit of a spin this evening and it seems fine. Infact, now the pedal box is welded up and I'm getting 25% more throttle travel (i.e. 100% throttle travel!) while I'd struggle to call the performance 'nippy', it's much less 'unnippy' than it was (if you see what I mean?)

We found the chisel this morning; Shaun gave me a ring and said he'd pop in and at least see if he could diagnose the problem - he was over in South Clifton picking up some parts. I'd checked all the linkages pretty exhaustively and don't know why I didn't spot it myself - mind you, if I had, I'd probably have thought; 'oh yes that's the chisel valve because of its uncanny resemblance to a chisel. Look, its even got a blue plastic handle with the word 'Stanley' written on it' :D  Cheered me up anyway. I thought I might have to have a new gearbox and that would have been . . .BAD!

I am when I get a chance. It's got Micks name on it if/when he still wants it. I've had a quick look at it and it will probably need a weeks worth of WD40ing or some Semtex to actually get it off!

Thanks Vince. Unfortunately I don't have your mechanical skills which - thinking about it - might not be such a bad thing; it means I only spend a substantial part of my life messing about with my cars instead of ALL of it!

Another woe to sort out on the TGD I'm afraid; a suspension pipe suddenly decided to shoot its bolt at the weekend :( . I'd put the car in high to give it a clean and assume the extra pressure required was a bit too much for the old girl. Initially (after a couple of frenzied phone calls to 'BXperts' - you know who you are!), I assumed it was probably air in the system and spent half a day pouring fresh LHM down the pipe to the pump with the accumulator bleed screw opened up a bit in the hope that that would sort it - it didn't though. Then I spotted the leak. . .

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Shaun! Coming over to sort it out next week I hope. =D>

I fitted the new embellishers on the rear doors and wings anyway. Although the cars sudden incapacity spoiled the pleasure a little bit, I thought, well, if you're going to spend the next week sitting around on your fat arse doing bugger all, you might as well look good doing it! :D
