The before to be followed by an after.

I just thought it would be nice to have an uncluttered-with-other-stuff thread of before and after photos of my new GT!

Isn't she gorgeous?

I really love the GT badge on the back here and by the heater controls!

And I found another photo - thought I took more of them.

After photos t be expected early June. I'm hoping to have it roadworthy for the Beaulieu 'Simply French' car day, and hope to have it perfect for the ICCCR.

Yeah, like that's going to work ...

Now you need to be very very nice to Vince, Paul and Tim and get their polishin' tips. As far as getting the greasy bits off are concerned whilst being gentle on the paintwork, I'm sure that the 3 wise men will have more and possibly better ideas, but I've had really good results with a sponge I bought from Halfrauds which is covered with netting type stuff.

I have some very good (in my opinion) Autoglym car shampoo green stuff (looks like LHM) that is very good at getting most stuff off, even got rid of tar spots from a new road after a few washes.

As per sponges etc, advice would be very much welcomed! I usually use a wilko cheapy sponge (astra's paint is full of imperfections/scratches/dents before I had it anyway).

Thanks, Andy!

2 buckets Tom. One with shampoo in, t'other with clean water. Get some grit traps in the bottom of each bucket as well, stops any grit being transferred onto paintwork. Car looks lovely BTW. :)

Fabulous, cheap wilko sponge is fine, just use one for the body and one for the wheels etc.

A word from our glorious leader . . .

As Willy suggested a 10lb tin of elbow grease is the product of choice for getting it looking gorgeous.

Well done that man; it really is a peach! 8)

Thank you for everybodies kind commenting!

The more I look at it the more I like it, I think I may stick with the wheel trims actually, i'll paint them and tart them up a bit and see how they look. They do seem to 'work' with the GT other extras. The colour is growing on me too and i've just read through the computer manual, how fabulously retro!

Sorting out insurance to start in May just incase... Then I can get on with getting it perrrfect.
