1991 BX 19 TZD

Post by George »

Hello though I'd show my face seeing as im now a BX owner thanks to Tim Leech, as after navigating him across France and Switzerland (Badly) for the classic car challenge i bought his car because it performed perfectly. I also bought the car becouse I own a 1988 Citroen 2cv which is in a sorry state so I decided to take it off the road and replace its shell.
I'v owned the BX 3 weeks now and it fecking ace! been so much fun and i get alot of attention, which I think the stickers help.

iv also fitted some hella 181's that i bought of a work collegue, sorta helps the rally look.

Although sunday just gone the BX's decided to scare me buy pissing all of its LHM fluid across its engine, due to a pipe splitting. which i soon fixed that afternoon. I also managed to source some more LHM on a sunday, seeing as i used 2 ltrs to get home, from a local citroen dealer. even if the bottle was a little dusty.

Thanks for reading, I'm sure I'll soon become a regular poster as i usually get up to all sorts of trouble.

Very nice, welcome aboard. Do those Hella's not interfere with radiator air flow?

And about time too George =D> ! Glad you found your way, if "navigating" classes as programming the satnav and being in charge of the tunes then fair enough you did a fine job

Howdy Mr C! T'is a fine looking car. Spot lights really suit it. Can't imagine there's that much airflow there anyway - most of it goes through the bumper, so I wouldn't worry about it (as long as the fans are now working... ;) )

That pic of it next to the Metro could have been taken years ago!

Hi George, welcome and good to see J644 CRC in safe hands !

Kevan, it's a TZD 1.9D n/a with a Long-nosed bonnet with only has an approx. 12mm gap between the lower edge of the bonnet and the top of the bumper face (When shut), as can be seen the lower edge of the driving/fog lights are set above the bottom edge of the bonnet !

So the only interference/affect with the radiator air-flow would be the minuscule amount the two mounting brackets take up

I have missed the old girl in the past few weeks as it was such a lovely drive once all the work was done, to do 2300 miles in that time and never once suffer back ache or feel weary is some achievment

Nice looking car - there's a set of speedlines and a splitter here when you want them George.

Hi George and welcome! That is a very fit looking car.

Hopefully run into you at an E Midlands event sometime, or see you at the ICCCR? :)

Probably be the wire inside the door, the OPEN DOOR sensor is connected to the latch not the light switch, its a door panel off im afraid, easy to do though, or you could just leave it like I did.

Hello George and welcome along, glad you're enjoying your BX.

I like this picture which is one of those ones that make it look like a model car - it must be that blurred sky, distorting perspective. I'm not much of a photographer but how do you get that effect?
