It is actually tomorrow - but let's not stand on ceremony. I've now amassed so many years I think it's perfectly reasonable to adopt the 28th, 29th and 30th as 'Paul's birthday season'! 8)

To cap it all I also got a distinction for my last MA magnum opus on Ruskins drawings - so anything that's been chapping your ass re; Ruskins drawings recently; step right up - I'm yer man! :D

Oh and the new Citroenian arrived this morning; always a good day when that happens! 8)

Nice haul, glad you had a good one (um, hopefully still are if birthdays are seasonal now) - can we have a closer-up of Le Dandy please? - and any restoration required on that?

The 'Le Dandy' had been subjected to a rigorous analysis of it's current condition with some sucking of teeth and chin rubbing. One of the fog-lights appears to be missing and a few areas of paint loss. Checking the under-body for the condition of pipe work etc. revealed some anomolies; the whole thing appears to be a sealed unit. That's the French for you . . . nutters!

Image

In other news, (as Mat . . . etc.) after what seemed like weeks of responsibility and boring stuff I managed to spend the whole weekend on the TGD. I replaced the last of the new door embellishers (if anyone has a 'cheat' on how to easily remove the old glue - I'd very much like to hear it!), changed the oil and filter and continued getting rid of the one or two small patches of rust (where are the other patches - not the rear door shuts by any chance? Yes, they are actually; how did you guess!? :D ); only managed to get it rubbed back and primed and it'll need a smear of knifing putty here and there and a bit more primer before I can paint and lacquer it.

Image

The 'new' alloys are nearly finished and should look good when they're lacquered. They don't quite have that diamond cut lovliness of the originals but at least if I twat them on a kerb I won't get all suicidal about it! :D

The photo record of a little impromptu 'BXing' this evening in Morrison's car park, Newark-on-Trent. George popped over to pick up his newly purchased speedlines and splitter, and it was nice to have a look at another of the 'Challenge' cars in the metal. It bears all the hallmarks of its recent 'Timification'; i.e. it's in lovely condition! 8)
