I know Tim, it's an important consideration. Obviously you know me well enough to know I meant no disrespect
Maybe get a TD engine in there one day even?

Yes of course Phil , converting it to TD power just wouldnt seem right, its always been just a lowly 1.8i, the engine and box themselves are in rude health, burns no oil and is lovely and quiet, just bloody french electrics!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Tim, have you tried disconnecting the battery to force the ECU to re-boot. My Pug 407 used to have an intermittent fault with the cruise. Every time it reoccurred I'd disconnect the battery leave it for a few minutes and then do a "soft " re-boot of the ECU. Always did the trick 100%. Worth a try mate. Don't be despondent with it.

It would be worth giving Jim Eastment a ring and plugging the Lexia in. See if it throws up a fault code. Don't get rid of Henry!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
A "soft " reboot is thus:- lower drivers window, pop bonnet and disconnect battery. Leave a few minutes and reconnect battery. In thru drivers open window, ignition on[ but don't start engine ], then put sidelights on and leave for a couple of minutes.

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Well a crappy week has improved somewhat, I came home to find two cheques waiting for me, one I expected for £25 for some parts (thanks Eoin) and the other a refund from the tax man, which covers most of the cost of the paintwork on the DTR, oh and im off to Silverstone tomorrow to meet the F1 drivers on a works jolly!
Could be worse!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Nice when you get something back from HMRC isn't it? Put in a claim before we set off for the challenge. As a "mobile" worker I can claim for meal allowance after working a 10 hr shift, which I regularly do. Got £480 back as a reduced tax code. Result!!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
I was once sent a tax rebate for nearly £2000 for over paid tax, 4 years later they changed their mind and said it was an error and I needed to repay it. When I rang up and tried to find out what had gone wrong; I relised I wasn't going to get very far when the woman asked me if I still had the cheque to return?

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Well a rather odd, day, highlight of it was this (yes I was guarding it, apologies for the poor picture, some Austrian race team bod took it)
And the free entry to the redbull hospitality with free booze, food etc and a balcony about the pit lane wasnt bad either, sadly the rain was awful, the traffic terrible
It took us 2.5 hours to do about 7 miles, after being stationary for a good two hours we abandoned the minibus and walked the last mile and a half (in the rain accross a field), apparently there had been 2 accidents that morning plus the A43 was closed to anything except Silverstone Traffic and by the looks of it people were getting lost, stuck in the mud or the gate staff were morons, or possibly all 3!
