Windscreen Seal

Post by Tim Leech »

Is a BX front screen bonded in chaps, also is the seal part of the bonding process?, the reason I ask is there some surface corrosion on the A pillars of the DTR which will be attended too but to get at it properly the seal would be better off coming out.

I can buy a sea easily enough

Cheers!

Yes, it is bonded and the seal is fitted to the screen before bonding. You *may* be able to tease the seal out in places, especially if they've been stingy with the adhesive but it'll be the devil's own job to get it back in again. Personally I would be inclined to do a stop gap 'slow down' job for now, until you can get the screen out as it's likely just the tip of the iceberg :(

Only clear and green. If they'd had a bronze one I'd have snapped their hands off.
