I imagine it will get some soon enough, I normally manage to do something stupid whilst refitting all the bits and bobs, need to get the door shuts done after the ICCCCR but it should looks presentable.

The 2nd owner (1988-2011) will be at Harrogate so it will be nice to meet them.

Just a thought Tim, [cracking motor by the way], do you have a small amount of sealant/protection where the plastic bit sits on a MK 2 on the edge of the wheel arch? Mk 1s have this and its underneath the paintwork on the leading edge of the arch, level with the tyre.[What seeds have i sown here.]

They did a stone chip tape, which followed the contour of the Mk1 rear arch, I have one new one which I have yet to fit, and will keep an eye out for another, I will be fitting mudflaps front and rear in an effort to combat it but no doubt there will be some "touching up" required at some point in the future.

MOT Day today, 3pm, im hopeful it will get through, the headlamp relays are proving problematical so im having them replaced, as of 11am today I have 2 headlamps, 2 sidelamps and 1 main beam (bulbs all new).

Bumpers are painted and look OK but I may get them redone in the future as they are "patchy", rear quarter window has been stuck on with double sides adhesive for the MOT for now.

Fingers crossed!

Yes Mat, previous owner fitted them, I think the Mk1 system was prone to problems as no relays were fitted? but these are probably 20+ years old now too and rather tired.

We have two weeks to the ICCCR, so unless its a total disaster all should be ok. [-o<

FAIL!!!!!!

Hole in the boot floor and one on the front subframe, which they advise fitting a new one (just like that) but will allow a welded repair if its "spot on".

Couple of advisory LHM drips, she got quite hot on the MOT ramp and the warning lamp of doom came on and went off, also the bonnet now wont shut........

Back down the bodyshop tomorrow to take a look and see how much it will cost to get the rust sorted.
