after weeks of sorting my laptop and being rather busy i thought it was time to update the thread (even if its not that thrilling).

First of all thanks to Paul296 for getting me a splitter and some speedlines :D

The alloys are currently at the sand blasters due to flaky paint and scuffs, then they shall be spray painted a custom colour

Also managed to fit my front grill fog lights plus the splitter ready for a 2cvgb registers day in St Ives, got alot of attention from the public plus a blokes number who has new headlight protectors and a sun roof visor!

Nice looking motor bud, well done.

If after fitting the speedlines which will set her off nicely you would be willing to sell the original wheel trims, i would be very interested.

It looks like an old photograph that's been scanned in - is that an applied effect or just because it's been taken through a window or something?

BUT...just so you know, if you were driving the BX and trailer it won't have been legal unless you've done the trailer test. Anybody passing their test after 1997 can only tow a 750kg trailer; or a bigger trailer provided the max trailer weight doesn't exceed the unladen weight of the car and total max weight is under 3500kg.
The daft thing is that a 750kg trailer means one that has a maximum weight of 750kg. So it's perfectly legal to tow an unbraked trailer stuffed to its max weight of 750kg, yet illegal to tow an empty (braked) trailer weighing ~700kg like the one in your picture! Although I would argue that the latter is actually safer

Sorry, don't want to turn this into a debate on legality - just that if you have to do it often it might be worth taking the test.

Glad you mentioned that Mat! It's easy to fall foul of the law regarding towing these days. As you say, even an empty trailer is no defence. Similarly, and very annoyingly, towing a car trailer with pretty much any non-4x4 car is a nightmare these days as the Police only take the GVM of the trailer, not the weight of the actual car and trailer being towed.

Good to have you back though George! The BX certainly did get a lot of attention at that meeting. Good to see you and Scott.

mat_fenwick I edited the image using photoshop, find it rather entertaining in my spare time when I'm bored

Nice to see you too Ian was a good Register day think Scott enjoyed it.

By the way people no I don't have the correct license to tow a trailer that size (Oh the embarrassment), no it was not for commercial purposes!?
Plus the trailers right indicator didn't work, I'm so ashamed of my self what will my father say........Oh yea he said stop winging and tow the damn thing as he was sitting next to me in the car Haha

Unless, as it turns out, you can prove that your business is not selling transportation as a service and that what you are moving merely aid your number one line of work.

Or thats what the guy in the place I forget's name said. It means I can put my blinkers back on and carry on.
