Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Screen replaced. It even looks like the previous screen may have had the same tint, it looks identical anyway.
I'm in need of a new wiper arm as mine is bent and the plastic gubbins on the spindle is all shattered (not the actual spindle, that looks ok).
Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again! I love this flat, but it would be so nice to have some off road/covered parking.

Who fitted the screen? Just be handy to know for future use. Did they supply the windscreen or use a third party supplier?

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
It was National Windscreens. I've no idea where they got the screen, I think from somewhere else within the company.
He said he had several front screens in stock in Manchester.

Not sure about rear screens, but I found the following today against the time I have to do the windscreen surround on Timex - it's not worth trying to save the screen as it's chipped
http://mobilemotorglassltd.co.uk/citroen-bx.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If it wasn't for my being so tall, I'd be tempted by the one with the blue sun strip, even if it's wrong for my car

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
That's pretty impressive, not bad prices either I don't think?
So what do I find in the waiting area at the glass place? A book with loads of pictures of BXs in! Ha ha. Geekery abounds.

And back home, new screen, attempted salvage of sticker. Not perfect. Oh well. It's surprisingly hard to remove shattered safety glass from the back of a sticker.

In other news my new chisels arrived today along with a nice brass mallet. And managed to negotiate a hefty reduction in rent this month in exchange for doing some fixing in the bathroom after the flood from upstairs. The landlord on realising the floor he'd just laid (incredibly badly) had just peeled straight up actually sank to his knees, thought he was going to cry. Oh dear!

So, as per topic in "Wanted/For Sale", another nice bit of vandalism.

This time new door is required. Great!
In happier times we went to a very small music festival in a wood next to Windermere last weekend and had an impromptu Cit meet. Big turn out. Not sure who it was, but they decided to park next to me out of all the other spaces, so it must be Citroen magnetism.

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Mat's advice is spot on. A lot of if not all the problem starts inside and shows on the outside. I have a full set of Citroen Factory bulletins for the period 1990 to 1993 and I think that there is a guide to cavity and under sealing (You drill to get access for the spray nozzle and afterwards insert rubber plugs) - I'll have a look. It is the one of the things I do not do my self and my J reg estate is going to Chevronics in a few days time for the job. What I do do myself is touch-up/re-coat all the underside and wheel arches with wheels off once a year. In the old days like when I bought a GSA from my local dealership back in 1981 I was given a voucher to get it done at a local Zeibart specialist... Proper treatment is a good investment...
PS: A good tip when you do your annual touch up get it up on axle stands, get the wheels off, plastic bags on the brake disk area, AND spray with cavity seal on the surface and leave it for an hour, then go back and touch up with a brush. The cavity fluid will have softened the surface to give a keying effect.

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Wild praise! Ha ha. It'll do the job for a few days while I source a door and figure out how the hell to put it on.
I've got a mate who sprays cars, so if the replacement isn't the right colour I'll get him to quote for that and any
other blemishes. I love this car, it must be repaired!

Is the door frame not repairable? seems a waste of a good door otherwise. It's not necessarily a bad area just one wild arsehole can cause a lot of distress to a full community, lets hope he gets his just deserts.

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Got to say, I just assumed it was doomed. Maybe it could be bent back in to shape. The metal is frighteningly malleable.
The problem is it was bent to quite a sharp angle causing a bit of a crease on the rear edge of the window frame area of the door.
Not sure though, no experience with bending doors back to a reasonable shape.
