I don't think anyone that's seen your blog Mike (and that's like . . . everybody) Is going to be doing any laughing at Timex - sterling work!

Anyway, where's all these pics of the CXM for all us poor souls who had to stay at home and slave over a hot computer while everyone else got to run around in the sunshine having a thoroughly chevronic time!? :( ( :D )

P.S Was browsing through one of the classic car papers today and came across a really nice article on the Rover SD1 by one 'Ian Seabrook'. Nice article, but who the hell would want to own one of those old sheds!? 8)

My favourite is this one:

Hi everyone,

Well we are finally home safe and sound- got in at 11.25pm.

Apologies that we couldn't say goodbye to everyone as we were already running slightly late for leaving to see my dear old Great Aunt and Uncle and had to dash off in a hurry....

It was great to meet you all, what a nice bunch you are. :)
Katie and I had a fantastic time and no doubt we'll do a write-up in greater detail once we've recovered a bit.

I counted at least 22 XM's (but it was the 'CXM/Xantia' Rally) after all !

So the BXC gets the first look-in (Followed by the FCF) as the 'www.club-xm.co.uk' is down (Hopefully the 'www.club-xm.com' is working so that I can post there) !

Someone let me loose in XM td s1.5, with no a/c abs etc which i have to say i
Liked, it felt like a big Xantia but with better seats! The lack of 30 ecu's and sensors for everything appealed!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

A few pics:

The line-ups at Bletchley Park attracted a lot of comments from the public…

A red CX Turbo 2 would complete my set of red sporting Citroens nicely!

Dom Weston gave me a lift in my old CX Turbo 1 diesel – it runs really sweetly despite its looks.

And finally the line up of the three Visa GTIs including my latest acquisition E761CCN - this represents 3/4s of the Visa GTIs on the road now in the UK as the fifth one has been taken to Germany…

Just to say what a bloomin fantastic weekend. This was my inaugural visit to the CXM and it will now be a firm fixture in my Citroen social calendar, might even bring the XM next year, spent the night at Forton svcs NR Lancaster as it was too late to drop off the caravan at the storage place, slept really well, until an artic parked up nearby with his fridge running. Bloody truck drivers!! :) here's to the Aulnay visit. :)

This is the 1st time i've been & it was great, even though i was working, haha. I'm glad i could sort your car out for you Mickey & you're a gent for feeding & watering me & for the surprise beer token sheets at the end. I was a bit embarrassed as i was doing it for free, but i'm smaller than you, so thought it best not to argue. If i can help in the future, just give me a shout.

The lhm drain & re-fresh went quite well, i did forget to put the bloody white plastic disc back into the tank after i'd filled it up with fresh lhm, that was a bit annoying, but easily sorted. That front driver side nipple really didn't want to play ball & luckily Kitch suggested that it might potentially be twisting to snap off, so i re-tightened it back up to stop it from leaking. I reckon get another replacement caliper just incase, but a hammer (which we didn't have) to give it a good shock & a wire brush to clean the threads up a bit & some mole grips might get it to come out.

What amazed me was the lack of effort required to get any air out of the system, it's been the easiest car to do so far :) always a bonus. Lets hope it has made the car feel better & the suspension is now nice & softer than it might have been before. It would have been good to use hydraflush, but there's always another time :)

I even managed to have some time to look at the cars, & there were some lovely motors about, stacks more than at stratford & the weather was superb, a very enjoyable & fulfilling day. I even managed to sell a few bits whilst i was under the car. That picky of me & Mickey under the car is ace.

Must admit, being as I had only met Matthew once before, I was a bit concerned when he kept saying he wanted to get under my rear end and get it up in the air !!! [-X

thought it must be some strange Derbyshire ritual but it soon became clear what he meant [-o<

It was great meeting lots of new people this weekend, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to getting stuck in to various tasks that I have been advised of to help get the car up to scratch, that's if the rain up here ever subsides of course! Lots of good photos from the whole weekend even though I appear to be driving an imaginary car complete with sound effects in one of them!
