. . . and here is the aforementioned fabulous weather and good company - although the weather did threaten to spoil itself later much to Tim's annoyance.

No MOT today now, I was unaware my colleague is on a days holiday so the chance of getting out to pick it up, fit the seat belt buckles and get it back here today will be zilch! So rebooked for Monday (my day off) where I can give it a thorough clean and do a few other bits to it.

Well the XM passed with no advisories. :D Glad the old girl didn't disgrace herself. N/S headlight aim high, but the tester let me fiddle with the bulb and passed it. Proper old school garage, they even had a 1960's willys jeep in for it's MOT, not everyday you see one of those. Apparently it was discovered rotting away in SE Asia ( Vietnam, basically ), shipped over to the UK and had a nut & bolt restoration. I've put a couple of pics of it up on Facebook. All in all a good day, the sun is even shining. :)

The MOT ( Control Technique ) tester was most amused when he opened the cinq porte and saw the extra glass screen!! :)

Another bx day, clay barred and hard waxed the tzi plus touched up the door shuts, adjusted the drivers door pin so it sits level and removed the door card to find what the rattle was, turns out the spring off the window mechanism was laying in the bottom of the door!.

With the assistance of my neighbour Peter (preacher) we did the strut return lubing exercise, they still groan.....

WTF is now in my garage ready for MOT, she looks luuurvly with the graphite speedlines (thanks Paul), the clutch drags and it feels like the 2nd choke on the carb isnt working as its lethargic!

Ive swopped the wheels from the GT to the DTR ready for the NEC, and now im knackered!

I've splashed out today and bought a clay bar. Any tips Tim? Obviously wash the car first. It's a Autoglym one which comes with some lube
Could you not get Chevronics or Pleiades to refurb the struts? Mine used to make a groaning noise, despite lubing the struts it still did it. However after spraying the underside with waxoyl it went away, so I came to the conclusion it was in fact the front subframe mounts that were a bit dry. Worth a go IMHO. :)

MOT Pass no advisories! :D the washers had to be rigged up as water wouldnt get through the spindle, and when I tried to blast it out with the airline to no avial, then drill it out but then the bit snapped off inside! so I need a new wiper motor which is a shame as theres NO play in it.

Amazing what a crisp tenner in a MOT testers back pocket can achieve.;) In all seriousness, well done mate, nice feeling having a fresh ticket ain't it. :)
