Think I preferred the CX as it was then

White AX GT looks lovely! It's got to be the best colour for a GT, especially when the wheels look right like that one.

Aye the AX was a beaut.... until a bus killed it :( I liked the CX silver too, after 8 years I had it repainted Silver with a red green pearl lacquer, then a little girlie ran her push bike down the side of it :( Her family paid for the re paint.... The colour it is today.

Those early GTi's with the 4 "spoke" wheel trims in my opinion look great.

There is something about those phase 1 BX GTI wheel trims... I love 'em. If I ever did have a GTI it would have to have those trims and be either silver or black :)

All look like loverly cars, I also am fond of AX GT's.

In the last AX picture there's the wifes Pink mini :)

I paid 35 quid for the Allegro, it needed the front crossmember welding for the MOT.

I went into Halfrauds and asked for a set of wiper blades for an Allegro and the bloke behind the counter said that sounded like a fair exchange!! 8)

I remember being at a Citroen CX launch at the Newark and Notts Agricultural show in 1975 (I was a St. Johns Ambulance cadet!). The Safari's and Familiale's were particularly impressive just by virtue of their size , but considering the Rootes group/BL stuff that was the standard fair in mid-70's rural Nottinghamshire the CX might as well have been from another planet - yer' know what, I reckon it was! 8)

GS's must have been the same, as they were being sold in cometition with Marinas, Allegros and Escorts!

CX Safari's are a big car until you look at them along side a new C5 Estate - I recon that's actually a bigger car!

I've always had a soft spot for the Allegro, luckily I've never actually owned one thought. :-)

Well, sort of. Safari is still longer (4920mm to 4829) but the C5 is much wider (2096mm to 1727mm). Having driven a lot in both, the CX does feel very long but the C5 while big, feels more in proportion.
