My CX when I go it, we went to the American adventure and early Techo viking (my brother) walking up to my CX at Peterborough

Aye the AX was a beaut.... until a bus killed itKitch wrote:Think I preferred the CX as it was then![]()
White AX GT looks lovely! It's got to be the best colour for a GT, especially when the wheels look right like that one.

I remember being at a Citroen CX launch at the Newark and Notts Agricultural show in 1975 (I was a St. Johns Ambulance cadet!). The Safari's and Familiale's were particularly impressive just by virtue of their size , but considering the Rootes group/BL stuff that was the standard fair in mid-70's rural Nottinghamshire the CX might as well have been from another planet - yer' know what, I reckon it was!Gary wrote:The first time that i had seen a CX was at the east of England show ground Peterborough in the late 70's on a school trip, it left a lasting impression
Well, sort of. Safari is still longer (4920mm to 4829) but the C5 is much wider (2096mm to 1727mm). Having driven a lot in both, the CX does feel very long but the C5 while big, feels more in proportion.citsncycles wrote: CX Safari's are a big car until you look at them along side a new C5 Estate - I recon that's actually a bigger car!
