I might also need some Valver bits, but feel maybe just a bit wrong asking?

And yes... Those P6000s were terrifying in the wet. The wheels were considerably rounder than the ones I swapped off it too :?

ya know, I have wheels, I should just retore them rather than getting even more!
Ebay them, make some cash dude
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Bandit - I might need the dials I'm afraid. You can have my knob, but you can't have my clocks yet

Matt - Don't be silly mate, but be warned I'm being fairly selfish with the spares! What do you need?

Doc - I was going to offer them up on here before eBay but haven't been paying attention on what they're worth. But yeah I do need to release some cash on some of these bits to put back into the pot I raided!

Is the gear linkage sound Kitch? If so would it be compatible with my GT? I'm going to need working speedo cables for the MOT too, are the 16v's going spare (if they'll fit)? Ooh, and battery clamp too please :)

Gear linkages are different on yours mate, yours will be a BE1. This is a BE3.

Speedo cable won't fit (upper half anyway) but I was planning on retaining these. Speedo isn't an MOT critical part anyway.

Battery clamp....it's literally just a little piece of bent metal! You can have it if you want.

Actually not too much, mainly stuff I could get off any BX - but I know it's all good on the 16v - and if the rolling road thing is still going on at the end of the month I have more of an excuse to come down!

- Windscreen wiper mechanism
- Dash pod (not the dials, just the outer pod)
- steering column shroud and all associated screws (mine was bashed when someone tried to steal it from the previous owner's driveway - and it doesn't fit too well any more)
- Roof aerial (I know, £10 off ebay, but something I haven't done in over 3 years of owning the car  )
- front window regulators
- all the central locking rods and actuators from the front doors...
- Front seats? Worth asking! Desperately want to re-fit Monza interior to VOT, and my front seats are just awful.
- rear light wiring loom (just the three-pin connector and associated loom on the left-hand side)

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head... probably more 'bits' but nothing 16v-specific.

I reckon I could help you with everything there Matt! I hadn't planned on retaining any of that lot with the possible exception of the wiper mech for spares as I don't have one (but if yours is broken then you can have it). Front seats....I was planning to sell the whole interior, once I'd made the best set out of G-SEG's and BAH!

Oh and yes, I'm still up for the RR day though I don't think a date has been arranged. I need to liase with Sandre and work out what she's planning.

Okay, sounds like a plan! I'll let you know if I can think of anything else, but to be honest I got so many spares with the black one I'm pretty much sorted for life

And definitely up for RR session.

Was worth a shot, thought you'd be keeping the speedo cables! Though I didn't expect them to be different. I'll have the clamp, thanks, i'll give you suitable renumeration. Can I collect it at the RR day? Be nice to see your dad's GT too.

Not sure, there is a short one (upper, I assume?) with the car, the speedo was working when I received it, but stopped last September and I haven't had a look at it yet. Hopefully it'll be a misconnection somewhere, but I won't know until I look. Do I remember a thread a while back where someone got cables made? Would be interesting to see if we could 'club' together and get a group discount. (sorry for o/t).

Erm.......well......yeah, so it looks like I've made the right choice to call it a day on G-SEG.

You know how I mentioned I'd seen evidence of bodgery up front? Yeah, well shit's got alot worse down the back; starting from behind the rear bumper....evidence of a shunt:

Evidence of foul play:

Image

So I go on ahead to remove the boot carpet I've sold on, and find some 'interesting' stuff:

Image
Image
Image

What the....?

Image
Image
Image

What is all that you ask?

Image

Well, it looks like bits of metal chopped out of a car body, bent into shape (very badly) and GLUED over rust holes

Image

I stood in the boot.....

I wonder what else I'm going to uncover :?:

Anyway, I'll start a thread for images of all the places I find rot. I think this car has rot in every single one of the 'normal' BX places, so could be good to learn a bit about the way they're constructed by taking it apart.

Any sections that aren't rusted, I'm planning to un-stitch and keep (soaked in oil and wrapped in polythene in my shed  )
