Questionable Taste

Post by vulgalour »

The donor car I'm going to steal bits off for Stripey is red, and probably has better bumpers. Most of the paintwork that needs sorting is below the bump strip on Stripey, and recently I came across pictures of a Leader edition BX... and the coach stripe is red and silver... and I'm possibly now just making excuses.

I don't know if I will yet, but I do have a penchant for two tone paint and red. Your thoughts are welcome, hence the post. For some odd reason, when I first mocked this up it reminded me of French ambulances even though it looks nothing like them.

Truly ghastly, haha, but its your car to do with as you choose. Does metalic silver look better if you were going two tone it?

Everyone knows that red estates are by far the best BX to own, so I can completely understand the urge

Seriously though, I like it, but then I'm not really known for my good taste  I'll be painting the van two tone green and white next week, so hope that comes out OK!

They're not the most handsome thing to start with, but that paint job along with anything three spoke related is total fail for me #-o

But if you like it, do it. Screw everyone else!

Nope. Although an LT did get its moment of fame doing such a thing!

It's more to cover the umpteen shades of white from various repairs over the years, and make it look a bit ?m?o?r?e? ?a?t?t?r?a?c?t?i?v?e? less unattractive.

That LT is a thing of beauty in a way only a two tone LT van can be.

I think the BX could look good with a two-tone paint job, just not red and white; it looks like giant false teeth! The colour they used for the Leader looks OK but to be honest, just getting it painted white would be your best bet IMHO. Having said that; your car, your rules. Maybe a mental paint job would just add to the legend that is ol' stripy! 8)
