Just another thought, could you check out the spare tyre carrier? If its a MK 1 type, held on with clips etc and not just hooked into holes then i would be interested in that too. As its a pre facelift MK 2 it may just have the right type.

It's still there! Hasn't been moved or touched, which seems odd, but then the Saab 900 next to it hasn't moved either!

Strange! It has been destroyed officially though?
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

I wonder how good it is mechanically, and what they'd want for the engine and gearbox? Now I know what to look for, they should be just what's needed for Timex!

If the price is right and I can afford it, I feel a pre Citromobile adventure coming on!

I'll ask next time I go there Mike! A bit fell off the Passat the other night, so a trip to the yard may be necessary (although I don't recall seeing the part on the one Passat they have in like mine... :( )

seats look same as "sophies" seats???
