It has quite obviously been fitted but never actually used but from this picture it looks like it is genuine O/E spec with nice thick steel which is far far better than the usual aftermarket paper thin things that don't last. Personally I think I would have bit the bullet and kept it.

It was tempting - don't get me wrong. But if it was sold as unused/unfitted/brand new and it wasn't then........well.......hence my asking for a £5 off. If the chap had said "meet me half way" albeit a token gesture, it would of been a gesture none the less and a step in the right direction. It was the sellers response and attitude that sealed the deal as far as not wanting it. He didn't want to see the photographs and wouldn't entertain any notion that it had been previously fitted.

I'm happy to be corrected, but believe the down pipe / front sections are the same, with the change happening roughly at the rear footwell area - I'll find out as I go on collecting the parts.

There are indeed 2 different diameter front pipes, to suit the 2 groups of systems you described (flanged & flangeless).

However, the TD group system CAN be fitted to the smaller bore front pipe wit the simple addition of a sleeve (cut from the old u/s pipe), simply slip a sleeve onto the end of the front pipe and the TD system will slip over it. Add clamp & job done.

What a load of fuss over a fiver, he probably didn't even check whether it had been fitted or not, therefore is convinced he's in the right, wouldn't believe the photo's you would have sent him, thats why he wasn't interested & as you've said, gave you a full refund & then paid somene to come & collect it from you, haha, its hilarious when someone gets a face on, his loss, but glad you posted it up incase another club member bought it & was equally annoyed with being sold a 2nd handish item.
