My Bx open air

Post by banaanepit »

Hello there!

On the 4th of may when i was visiting Citromobile in my home country the netherlands, a guy came up to me with great interests in my BX known in the netherlands as the BX cabrio top. Since this guy was a brit i'd figured more british might be interested. :D

The roof used is a first generation Twingo roof and fitting the roof did no damage to the driving comfort. It's absolutely the best adjustment to my bx.

This is my BX 16 TZI automatic u9 CABRIO TOP:

Do you have any pictures of the fitting process? It'd be very interesting to see how you did it. Also, you've fitted a phase1 16v body kit to it?

I like it, next try fitting one to an estate  I must sort one out for mine as I really like having a sunroof. That would make mine one of a kind too (just like me. Fortunately  )

TBH, when your account was activated earlier today I noticed when BX you mentioned and half thought it was someone trying to wind us up!

LIKE :D I really need to sort out my sunroof sometime soon, it no longer works because the metal in front of the sunroof is no longer metal, but kind of powdery, so the sunroof motor has nothing to anchor itself on and spins about the 1 screw that is actually holding it somewhere. It leaked in the winter, and there is moss and other life forms growing under the sunroof deflector.

I would love to do this to my BX, and need to do something with the roof before winter. Are all mk1 twingo's equipped with this roof? Did it effect your insurance at all? With the headlining, did you just cut a hole in the middle, I see you've done something neat with a different fabric around the edges.

I hope you don't mind if I copy your idea, it does look fantastic!
