well in the netherlands as long as you don't change the stucture of your car you dont have to worry about insurance. the twingo roof was an option back than but around 60% of all twingo's have a roof like this. the fabric i used on the inside is the twingo roofing.

Would be a nice mod for Kieran to do on that tired old barn-find Mk1 RD. The hole in the roof is almost there already!

That is very neat. Like all the best mods, it looks original fit.

Citroen should have made it an option on the BX.

I could fit that to loose the heavy sunroof assembly.

That would save about 10kg from the top of the car.

Takes some balls to start jig sawing on the roof though.

When I picked up my diesel the other day my faced dropped when I noticed it had no sunroof, I thought of doing this. Now I know it can be done ! Where's my grinder ...

Its good news if a bx doesn't have a sunroof, less chance of it being rotten :) That mod does look rather good though :)

well you could try the roof of a vw lupo or a fiat seicento but the twingo roof has the nicest proportions. its being used a lot on the ds aswel.

Here you go. £450 in Norfolk. Seems a shame to break it for the roof though!

I think there were difficulties in making a RHD version; IIRC it's fairly tight under the bonnet. We had one as a hire car whilst on honeymoon, so it brings back fond memories. Surprisingly capable off road

'Capable' of what? If you have honeymoon nuptial gymnastics in mind in a Renault Twingo I imagine it's 'pretty tight' everywhere, nevermind under the bonnet . . . ouch! :D

Perhaps that's why Twingos have an opening roof...
