Hooray for Sandre! I full well know I was one of those people that was saying hang in there (and I know it's irritating, but also true) but I didn't get any oil boiling-cavy vibes from you. A new (awesome) car and a new, hopefully better job, not a bad weekend at all really! Will you be going to the CXM?

I'd wait a while, then you might get the benefit of an extra pair of hands ;-)

Thanks all - and Mulley, yes, I suppose I will be ... time to get those brake calipers bled through? Hope to see you at Stratford / CXM also? Tom/anyone else who may be interested: current intention is to attend both for Sat/Sun at least :)

I may have time to arrange flapjack for CXM if Tim doesn't mind me commandeering the kitchen sometime during that week.

I needed to shunt some cars around earlier to allow Margo exit from the garage. So Hurricane TD needed to be moved.....I can confirm the dash bulbs are all shot but one and the rheostat is also buggered as it doesn't do much. A quick nip round the block indeed proved that she's no ball of fire.....however after inspecting the throttle pedal it became rather apparent why! Bent as a bent thing! A quick tweak and whoossshhh! The amount of smoke the green machine chucked out once I had given her a few bootfuls around the block was comical....but it pulls like a train now and is very "tight" to drive, said smoke screen has now cleared sadly!

Sandre I think you've got a bargain love.

Want one.

Missed this great news yesterday, well done Sandre that is great news. All you need now is a lovely new house to go with the car and the job. We'll have to have a little meet up when your up here, I'm less than an hour from Tim.

I'd be interested to hear what the cost of those arm bearings is, I have one that needs doing soon and I'd like to compare prices.

Big congratulations from me and my menfolk

If there's only one dash bulb working, there will be very little voltage drop over the rheostat so it will have next to no effect. That's one reason why it doesn't dim LED replacement lamps, as they draw much less current. So chances are it's fine - just need the bulbs replacing.

Spoke to Barry about the Hurricane this morning. Looks like it's both front inner wings and both arm bearings will want doing - which I'm philosophical about as I was half expecting that. No "surprises" though, which is very good news :D. I just hope he's still got my (fairly long) shopping list, will check that when I speak to him later in the week to find out what the (£) damage is going to be and whether it'll be ready in time for Stratford - doubtful, but [-o<

The TZD needs to go into Rob's for a service before being pressed into commute duties - hopefully get that done this week before an Expotition to Nottingham on Sat to check out location of important facilities in relation to the office:
a) parking (free or at least very cheap)
b) a good (preferably local/not chain or supermarket) sandwich shop for when I forget to take lunch (see c))
c) the nearest supermarket for when I run out of - well, anything, I'm currently being entirely incompetent when it comes to 'housekeeping' instead of just uninterested/doing the bare minimum
d) Finally, and most importantly as anyone who has me on their Facebook friends will know, WHERE is the nearest Cafe Nero?

Less urgent, but just as important, does anyone (Paul?) know of anywhere within Nottingham itself which vaguely understands/is sympathetic to BXs, in case of emergencies - also MOT due end Sept and logistics might be awkward ...

I've never checked out Nottingham for independent Citroen specialists. Super Bario/Bourne and Sean are as near as Nottingham so I just go with them.

Invasion of Nottingham postponed due to being rawther under the weather over the weekend, so Stratford, sadly, is going to be a bust, I do need to get up there and have a good look around whilst not wearing stupid interview shoes that pinched my feet and put me in too bad a mood to wander round after said interview.

Unfortunately the Hurricane won't be ready anyway. I've just had a chat to Barry and the n/s/r is worse than initially assessed - bizarrely, the hanger is fine, it's just everything round it. It was pretty crunchy under the carpet there... Still waiting for an idea on the 'damage' and hope to be able to pick up the car for CXM - we'll see. CXM might also be off the agenda, depends on how much my first week as da boss wipes me out ...

PS Just scanned upthread to remind myself what had already been said: @Mark - I told you so ;P - congrats again, OK, so it's not the dream but the funds will keep you BX-ing and that's what really counts :)
