Gaggle of relays? I like that! Do you think I should ensure they are perfectly straight and in line?

Re: Mat's BX Blog
But if the problem is caused by increased interference / electrical noise due to a higher than normal resistance connection or 2 then arguably you'll have fixed the problemarguably it's curing the symptoms rather than the problem.

Re: Mat's BX Blog
They look far superior to the normal blue red and yellow crimp connectors, where be you buying them to?

Re: Mat's BX Blog
Probably only one with a Rover V8...
Kevan, if you see it again can you grab the boot lid? Mine is dented where the clutch on the winch failed when taking it off the trailer, and it careered off at high speed! But a bit of good news - a mate of mine gave me some brand new carbs for it he'd had knocking about
I couldn't believe he didn't want anything for them, but he seemed pleased and surprised with a crate of beer. (Purple Moose BTW, brewed about 10 miles away).
Re: the connectors - they're from RS and crimp very well. They have an additional tube over the crimped section to hold it all together, and grip the sheath. Will dig out the link later if you like? Currently we've lost the land line, so my mobile data allowance is taking a battering! (Ironically it's faster than the 'broadband' speed we get...)

Re: Mat's BX Blog
Yeah - I recognised them too properly set up they should do a very good job if you can afford the fuel.
Useful to know about the connectors Mat - most of my kit is very decent - except my crimp connectors which are the usual naff ones - time to upgrade.
Talk Talk / Onetel stopped providing my excellent dialup service so I had to upgrade that as well. I put in an order to Plusnet for fibre and an extra phone line which all went pants due to BT Openreach being totally incompetent. Temporarily I used a Vodafone dongle until, one day, it went down to 3 bits per second and the local Vodafone shop turned out to be unwilling to get off their fat backsides to try and fix the problem. So I bought a "3" dongle to get back on the road - and at 1p per meg (to Vodafone's 2p per meg) and normally providing around 400 KB/s and a reasonable connection as well - happy with that.

Mat, I trust the relays will be arranged in a neat line? I'm sure you have a spirit level? Perhaps now would be a good time to get reacquainted with it wouldn't it?
'pednats' !? Good lord ( )

Re: Mat's BX Blog
Relays now in and working fine...300 miles over the weekend and I *think* the ABS problem has gone away
Not 100% sure but we might have found the problem with the phone line!
I reported it last night, but we're the only house on the line so I'm guessing it'll be a fairly low priority
