Re: X Rally.

I will concede that I'd be more tempted to join CCC if there was more BX stuff (r any X stuff to be honest) going on within it. At the moment, I just don't have the funds or the motivation. If BXC can access CCC's resources - ie public liability insurance for shows, including the NEC - then this has to be a good thing. I love that BXC is free, but the downsides is that 'free' does not generate income for things like insurance cover.

The NEC wouldnt let the CCC have two stands, so for that we would have to keep the BXC as a seperate entity. Membership is a paltry £2.50 a month so really theres no reason not too when a copy of practical classics is twice that and rarely covers the stuff we like.

if you want to make a difference then join up!

Not saying we should have two CCC stands at the NEC, just that it'd save effort/cost if the CCC's PLI covered both stands. Just a thought.

I'm not up for joining another club to make a difference. I've served my time on 2CVGB's committee. No more! As for PC, I'm more likely to appear in it than buy a copy. This job does have its perks!

Good luck to everybody taking over the X Rally organising, I hope to be there if it goes ahead.

Trying to edit long quotes on phone is painful, so I won't: misunderstood initial post, which wasn't entirely clear that BXC is in fact - effectively - getting formal recognition as section of the CCC. Which was clarified later and is a perfect solution IMO as we simply aren't big enough or rich enough to go it alone as a formal club. Well done on the hard work to make that happen Tim, and apologies for initial blondiness.

Good news folks. The X Rally 2014 is confirmed for the 27 th of April.

I understand that this is 'drive it day' and this might impact on attendance numbers, but this is the only date free at Burghley House.

It's £5 per car admittance. This goes direct to Burghley House.

If people would like to turn up from 10 am onwards. Please do try to attend and show your support and allegiance.

Paul will be along shortly with his custom designed flyer/poster.

Many thanks. Mark.

Could I suggest we also put the BX Forum sign on the bottom of the poster…

I think that may upset the CCC Hilary as they are covering the insurance and trophies costs....so probably not ideal.

Maybe if a BX section gets set up then that would be ok.

I have no problem with us putting up the banner though.

Bit of an understatement there i think Tim. I haven't watched the DVD yet, but IMHO the book really captures the feel of the event, and well worth a read, if not a buy.

Back on the original topic, work and wife permitting, I'll do my best to be at the X-Rally, in an X of some description.

Oh, and now it's got a date and graphics, the first post might want changing to give the latest details ;)

!!!---)))

Stamford, Peterborough, Peterborough again for the knees up thingy with music, the floods are only in Somerset! (stiffles snigger) ~titanic~

This is all a bit confusing to a newbie. X rally, XMB, BMX, UXB, XEdos, XNT, EtcX rally scratch... . No idea what all this means and the delayed CCC mags, and not doing FizzXog to see the arguments and the sideshow of ritual abuse of committee members argue:-( , take that coconut of your head , means news is after the event a bit. If BX are there, Stamford/Burleigh sounds more appealing from here. Not sure about three trips to roughly the same place . What if everyone chooses PeterXbrough and goes as someone else's passenger. I will miss all the BXs ----^ .
