Weather was much better than forecast, ok it wasn't hot but we had 2 minute shower.

Given the short time we had to organise it the turn out was great and a match for last year.

Well done everyone.

After no small amount of worrying as to whether anyone would actually turn up or not, X-Rally 2014 was a great success. The weather was cool but sunny with just over 60 cars in attendance. A very diverse range of vehicles were present including some beautiful D series cars AND an SM. I think there was something like 20 BXs in total; all very well cared for. Concourse judging was done by Tim and Rob Moss with the first prize going to Geoff Wilson for an immaculate 16TRS auto, yours truly in second place and Leo's absolutely beautiful valver in third. Mike did the BX community proud once again by winning back the coveted 'Shed of the Show' accolade (richly deserved of course!), while Mark's lovely XM took second prize in the XMs. Although not an 'X' car, Mike Cottingham's jaw-dropping DS took Best of Show, as it would in probably any show. As an aside, I discovered that Hilary and I were on the teaching staff at the same Bristol college at the same time and didn't even realise; what a small world. 8). Thanks again to everyone for turning up and making the X-Rally a success; it would have been a real shame if it hadn't been able to continue.

The standard of BX's is increasing year on year (with timex as the exception which is amazingly tatty!), my thanks to Paul and Mark for their help, I didnt count exactly how many cars we had through the door but it was over 60 so over 100 people. Plus we met a few new faces and saw a few cars I hadnt seen before.

That 16TRS auto is a beauty, expertly restored and recomissioned by Chevronics, but the 2nd and thirs place cars were close, and considering that Paul's TGD and Leo's 16v are unrestored with over 5 times the mileage of the TRS its reason to be proud.

Garys Meteor unfortunatly was exempt from the judging as it one first place last year (along with my TZI) or it would have scooped a win.

Just want to express my thanks for all who helped with the organisation. Good event and nice to have met you all. I do quite like old Citroens, whether super-polished or held together with sellotape.

I was the one lurking at the back with the green TZD estate. Might see some of you for that meet later this month

Thanks Tim . It's nice to know that all the hard work didn't go unnoticed .
I was sure that Paul's car or the valver would have won first place
