Clutch Cable Pedal Securing Clip

Post by themildbunch »

Thought I'd spend yesterday afternoon swapping my pedal box over as it's split badly... I knew this wasn't a quick job due to access but I tackled it the wrong way initially and managed to break one of the securing clips that the fiddly plastic ring clips into on the pedal box end...

As I needed the car and couldn't put a new cable in at the time I've left the cable located at the pedal box end but unsecured... This actually seems to work OK as the cable out seems to have little movement and the inner cable keeps in fairly well located so far...

I'm going to put a spare cable on when I can take the car off the road soon but anything bad likely to happen in the meantime?

I have to say, been running one of ours with no clip for over a year now, no problems at all.

Ha.. that's reassuring!

TBH I was using the old, split pedal box for over 2 years and bending it upright once a week and it still hadn't split...

Me too - that was a new cable as well, but I simply wasn't able to get the clip thing to fit and work, so I gave up. It's been no problem at all.
