I can go with concrete roofing tiles as I have just moved about 3,800 of the swines. I palletised them on getting to my shed, and a 1000 Marley tiles was about as much as the standard pallet truck could lift. I had to go to 500 a pallet which is about a ton I would think. They weigh in about the same as a brick, so they are more dense. Looking at that if you filled a BX I think you could put in 3 tons without to much bother. If you went for max it would be more like 4 tons.
When does a BX suspension fail to lift? Impressive.

The other bad but full load I have had is two Dalmatians with severe wiff bot major after being very spoilt by folk at events over a weekend. This is not weight but chemical attack. Phew. vom=

I like the DIY Morris Traveler kit, myself. A green load.

Did you know you can get two Government issue 4 draw filing cabinets in a Minivan. Impressive, as at the auction I had the smallest car, but I was the only guy who could get two in, other than the older Estate cars present. The fourwheel drive school run stuff failed miserably on one. So many cars have intruding bodywork and seats that do not get out of the way. Modern cars are just rubbish.

That's pretty impressive - somewhere I've got a pic of my old Cortina estate loaded up a bit like that - and with an impressive roof load as well!

Bummer...
Mine's an early 80s 630 which I bought for 37 quid nearly 20 years ago. Since then it's had a bar and several chains but that's about it, and it's done a hell of a lot of work. I've got six saws at the minute, but it's this and a more modern Echo top handle/climber's saw that do most of the work.

OK revise those tiles back. call it 2.5 tons and a full out load at 3 tons. Sounds more likely as the car will pull this on a trailer OK but if you ask it to support the load without extra wheels I can see it struggling. I believe towing weight as about 1 ton. Little as the car is light. The Trooper is something like 31/2 tons.

Me, I got a Stihl at a sale, when a local farm supplies, Tinknalls, closed down its operation after being shat on by John Deere. Its only a piddler of a chain saw, MS210 I think, but it does what I need, and is a real one, made in Germany. I got it as my Stihl strimmer, from 1870  still cuts the mustard, and anything else with its bush cutter on, despite age and usage. Stihl used to make damn good kit, but I here tails of lesser quality creeping in from outsourced manufacturering. The chain saw is a sod to start from cold and insists on fresh fuel. Once warm its fine.
Topical as I have about 4 sq m of firewood to chop and stow in my woodshed, and eer, oh eck. Somewhere else. Also a Leylandii 'hedge' to drop. More firewood but its not great in the grate, as it were.

I have a load of saws and garden equipment on a commercial scale but not really needed so much having recently retired as a gardener. All quite new, including the pole pruner in the back ground as it was all stolen a couple of years ago. The pole pruner, basically a small chainsaw on a telescopic stick is one of my best bits of kit being so practical. Ime able to lop high branches etc without having to climb a tree [something i wont do with a chainsaw] and its great for topping out high hedges.
Everything is now well secured, chained and padlocked and the shed door is not only double locked, its hidden behind some plywood board so you dont know its there. Also boobytrapped too!!

Only lightweight ones.... rather depends on the type, as the SD/SG varies a lot. My local brickworks ones are quite heavy at the 2.4 end of the scale and then the metric/imperial games begin..

I don't have that excuse, but I've somehow managed to acquire/accumulate six chainsaws (did have a couple more but I've, ahem, cut down recently) including the Jonsered, two old Danarm beasts from the sixties and a 1970s Pioneer I found in a skip earlier this year. I got two big Jonsered brushcutters (one with a blade, one with a line) for 30 quid each from the same auction as the chainsaw, a smaller Husqvarna one swapped for an old Apple Mac and a little McCulloch again found in a skip. No one seems to have put one of those pole saws into any of my local skips lately though - I'll have to keep my eye out!

Just finished stacking this year's firewood in the newly extended shed. There's room for about 14 m3 of wood, and still enough space down the middle for a bike or two....
