Wtd Radiator cowling/fans for 16V Break Spare wheel carrier

Post by hilarystone »

I am looking for the radiator cowling plus fans in order to finish off the 16V van… The cowling and fixing parts for the rad are the most important parts. And a Break spare wheel carrier…

Let us know if you have anything…

Many thanks

I probably have both of your requirements on my TD estate. I am assuming that twin radiator fittings are the same for all models.

I am a way for a couple of weeks soon.

Jana, there are three types of twin fan setup that I know of. After sales with two single fans side by side, two even sized fans in a single housing, and two un even sized fans in a single housing. I've had two valvers with the latter type.

Are you after a particular type Hilary, or is function more important than form?

That's how 16v come set up – you can add a second fan for towing etc…

I don't think any UK BX came with a twin fan unless it was an AC car, or specified with one at build. Though I'm sure someone will correct me very shortly.

I guess the argument for Citroen is, why include an expensive extra fan when you can have the customer pay you extra for it?

They don't really need a second fan unless your radiator is blocked by a condenser or your spending long durations under heavy load such as 20 minutes up hill or towing. It's much cheaper to specify the correct radiator size for 'normal' running, and don't forget that an electric cooling fan is typically useless over 40mph.

My TZD has 2 fans, no a/c though. My mate Tim's TXD also had 2 fans, again no a/c. My TXD only has 1 fan so i dont think there is rhyme nor reason to it.
