Bit of news re my impending move to Cornwall. Had a survey done, as you do and it came back to me as rather a missive of doom!! Lots of problems!! So, this last Thursday, went down to Liskeard with my mate Mike who is a builder to give it the once over. set off at 4am, got back at 5 pm, fairly knackered. The Agent gave us free reign to go over the place, which we did and it dosnt seem so bad. The upshot of it all is another, reduced, offer to the sellers and we will see what happens. If it all goes to plan, fingers crossed, i will live in the holiday let while the house is sorted. Hopefully i will move in April which is a grand time of year to move.
Once ime sorted, any BXC member will be welcome to visit, i will be 20 minutes across the bridge [hopefully].

Is that the bottom of Cornwall Andy? I used to truck down to Okehampton some years ago. Nice run down the A30, especially on a summer's morning.

Actually Mark, I always thought the drive down to Cornwall from my part of the world, once on the A 303 was a glorious drive and I will miss doing it but not the 5 hour drive back. The dream is to get off a shark boat in Looe and in 20 minutes the mackeral will be on the barbi. Been dreaming of this for the last 30 years and hopefully that dream will come true soon.

I will be living about 20 minutes over the Tamar Bridge, just inside Cornwall, about 8 miles from Looe. Cant wait!!

Long as you've done the Radon check... you should be OK. Nice part of the world, did a weeks sailing there some years back, parked up outside the town (Looe) and never used the car all week. No 'kiddies' with tinnies in the streets and pretty friendly locals mixed with quite a few refugees from the south east!.

The river mouth gets pretty spectacular with a big Southerly gale and a high spring tide.

Been there when thats happened Tink. Floods all up the High Street and Mill Pool carparks flooded with the boats almost coming over the quay. At least I hope to be a little way inland. Radon sorted too.
Just cant wait, house moving is one big pain.

Met up with Malcolm and his family today at Bodiam Castle. Well worth the visit and i think future meetings of the East Sussec BXC should be here as it has a lot of potential, especially in the summer. Mention CCC membership and parking is free. Sadly, probably my last meet.

Oops, dont know how that got there, my first beer for a month.

Yeeeehhhhaaaahhhh, the sellers of the property in Cornwall have accepted my new offer, a lot less than the asking price and the deal is back on!! Been feeling a bit low about it over the weekend but alls well now. Looks like we will be exchanging contracts in a couple of weeks too on my property!!
Roll on April!!
