Clock set

Post by Toddman »

Am I correct in thinking that the petrol BX 1.6 and 1.9 inc 16v all share the same clock set and warning lamps?

I know some do not have bulbs fitted or the ABS wire fitted but I need a clock set with 65 to 70k showing and might have to resort to a scrapyard search.

Thanks
Please call me Luke :)

Hi Todd

The 1.6 and 1.9 carb and diesel don't have a oil pressure gauge and warning lamps instead of a temperature gauge for water and oil and of course the rev counter differences.

It is quite easy to dismantle a speedo and reset it to the miles you want.

Not sure if you know or not, the mileage barrel can easily be transplanted into a working speedo clock, i've done it myself to ensure the mileage on my car was correct :)

Just a word of warning from what Mulley said. If you remove the mileage barrel, Make sure it does not turn when outside the clock, otherwise it won't work again.

Someone on here suggested putting some tape across the barrel to keep it in a straight line. But I can't remember who.

Otherwise its a easy job.

It may have been me which suggested using some sellotape, it'll keep everything lined up & once fitted you can just peel it off :) so easy when you know how ;)

If you were after a dash, Barry Annels has got one, not sure if he wants it for one of his cars, but worth getting in touch to find out if a deal can be done :)
