Well the ever increasing fleet has increased, a 3 hour train ride today took me to a very small local garage that has been a Citroen repairer since 1934!!

The Xantia was too good to miss at the price, of course its not perfect with a few old giffer marks, and although its only done 75000 miles it appears never to have had a cam belt change!

Xantia has been here a week now, not done much except change the air and fuel filters, side repeaters, fitted the headrests and given it a wash and scrubbed the interior which came up like new.

Still awaiting the bits I ordered last week to arrive for the belts etc and then its time to get the very flat paint machine polished and some of the dents massaged out.

TZi dropped off at the paint shop to have the spats done finally, then I need to fit the new wiper motor and get it cleaned ready for the National.

The bloody xantia alarm was going off all night until I disconnected the battery at 3am in a thunder storm! Even eith the car unlocked with the plip and engine running it was still going!! I'll disconnect it properly as it won't please the neighbours who are all very nice.

Official wedding venue booked for next may which is very exciting, let's hope the Welsh challenge isn't until after then as if it happens we want to go!

Really gutted about Malcolm, we always got on well with his good humour and fountain of knowledge, they don't make people like that anymore.

On a positive note the Spencer household is about a bout to grow, Jack will be coming to live with us on Saturday (my birthday)and we are delighted, he is a lovely 9 year old JRT we have adopted from the local RSPCA, we only went to enquire and look round but when we met him we just knew he needed a loving new home, which is what he will be getting. As he is an older dog he is more docile and relaxed.

It means Michael wont be attending the National (he is quite relieved) as its the day after jacks arrival and will be a bit soon to be taking him anywhere large, although expect to see him at future Rally's in the future (as long as he doesn't make my car dirty!) and we have a queue of people wanting to come and meet him already!

Friday sees the Xantia Athena get its much needed full valet and machine polish, I've had the car a month nearly and haven't had any time to clean it yet!

I know how you feel. Still at least your supporting caste are able to take up the opportunity! Planning going in for my workshop. Workshop should mean working BXs. Be nice!

I've managed to plug the holes and rig up some piping over the snapped off pipes which now feed directly into the top of the lhm tank, it's rather crude but should hold up hopefully long enough to get me to chevronics so Rob can fit a complete new octopus. It's one less thing to replace ones it's done and is after all just rubber pipes which don't last forever but so far these have held up 24 years.

Well I have very fresh lhm now! I've got through 6 litres today!
