Re: Paul's polishin' blog
I fitted some new wind-deflectors to the TGD today. As well as looking smart, they do actually deflect wind - which is nice.

Thinking of a set of those for the 4x4 - they do look nice on the right car.

Re: Paul's polishin' blog
Very little actually. It needed quite a bit of welding when I got it, but Shaun Lloyd did all that for 'mates rates'. The alloys were 40 quid and I refurbed them myself, then routine maintenance and a few bits and pieces.Mothman wrote:How much have you spent on it bud? Stunning motor though!!
There will be a bit more major outlay at some point I expect: it's about to get new tyres and I suspect it'll need a new clutch next year and I'd like to get a PAS rack fitted as well; I've got weedy arms (although not as weedy as they used to be after driving that).

Re: Paul's polishin' blog
Coming out of the petrol station shop today after a fill-up (well 15 quids worth of diesel), the TGD looked so nice, I couldn't help taking a picture of it with my phone. If anyone had said to me; 'you are a total car nerd and a generally sad individual for photographing your own car at a petrol station', I had the following clever repost ready 'ackcherlee, I'm selling it for a friend on eBay.' As it happened, no one said anything - so that was OK and I was saved from having to lie.
The alloys are being re-lacquered at the moment so the car is enjoying - what you might call - a wheel trim-interim (if you were so inclined; I'm not, not really). I'd forgotten how nice they look.

Interesting that the camera catches the digit segments of the sign behind between flashes thereby showing the camera does not always depict life as we know it! Nicely presented car though.

Taxed, MOT'd and back on the road - after 6 month driving the TGD power-steering is a real luxury.

Re: Paul's polishin' blog
I can't believe it's nearly a year since I added anything to this blog; the Hurricane had just been recommissioned and now it's about to be decommissioned. Although, now that you can switch tax around it may not be off the road for quite so long this time around. It had a quick trip up the A1 today to The Stamford Classic Car Show - some amazing cars and a very impressive turn out, absolutely ruined by the weather;it rained torrentially all afternoon.
The white BX is Ashley Nicholl's lovely TXD that he recently single-handedly restored; the car was absolutely rotten after years spent in a scrap yard. It's a VERY impressive piece of work and is about to be featured on the BBC's 'Holiday of My Life' with Len Goodman (whoever he is).
