Zantia??? that's nearly as bad as a Citreon!!

They are a different animal to the BX, but have lots of good points, but not as fun to drive, but in my opinion the last Citroen to catch my eye that I can afford (sorry Mulley)

I think it is the rear quarter treatment that is not as 'good' as the BX. That part of a car is very hard to really get right and ultra distintive. Think Ford Capri -- curved rear window, or Jag XJS, or even Vauxhall Calibra, Renault Fuego - quite distinctive in different ways. The Xantia is a bit un comitted visually at the rear. Gandini was pretty bold on the BX for the time and fortunately it's not actually a large blind spot creator.

Nice car Tim.

Haha! It's worth about £5k tops in the real world, but I wouldn't sell it did for that.

Anyway, cambelt and new spheres (they have chevrons on them so could be originals!) yet to go on next week, plugs, oil and filter changed, all looked fairly clean although the last stamp in the book was 2010 at 36000 miles.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Bit of a rarity that! When I lived in Northumberland I recall the neighbours opposite having a Metro VP which seemed to add to their delusions of grandeur. Didn't really compare with our DS23 or the BMW 518 we had then... In those days living in a small village I knew virtually everyone's car by the sound it made. Maxis, Renault 5s, the postman's Viva van, the neighbour's Tarmac Viva van and, annoyingly the badly fitted exhaust to our DS. One of our dogs even recognised the sound of my Dyane, so you can imagine the panic and confusion when the next door neighbour turn up one day in a brand new 2CV and it wasn't me who got out of it!

I digress, good to see such a car going to a good home, Tim.

It's called hyacinth, which fits in with your post, it's just a metro, admittedly one having done 11485 miles and was only £800!
