It did for a long time! They sold over 2000000 and it kept AR going for a few years.

The whole bl bashing thing is rather unfair, ok there were some lemons but if you look at road tests of the day they were well received.

We had a succession of Austin 1100's, but then my Dad saw the light and bought a Datsun 120 Y. :)

The Xantia Athena has gone to the squires....I hope it serves them as well as me.

A lovely car, and with many miles left it in.

Time to get cracking on the Silver one!

Another busy month, and its the paintshop shuffle!

SD1 is back out having had the wing and door done, it wasn't the correct shade when it was repaired,

The "tro" as its called at work (metro) is now in having the roof and bonnet done and the silver Xantia goes in after that for the nsf wing and door ready for the X.

Said Xantia now has new fluids, belts, spheres and headlamps, and the red Desire 2 is now sporting wood (not that kind), a new front height corrector and rear exhaust courtesy of Barry at Bourne!

This is now available in the shops!

This reminds me that Roverman's first passion was not the BX. The SD1 was a great car at the time I thought although I could only afford a Maxi which I thought was a pretty good car apart from very poor gearbox reliability.
My Maxi was Ziebart treated when new but it still rusted away. I put a twin carb conversion on it to get a bit more performance from a rather gutless 1750 engine.
Classic cars, for many people, comprise an important part of looking back in time, to the good old days and maybe happier times. Nostalgia rocks !
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.
