Quick Question Thread
rather than make lots of new topics, i thought i would just make a thread where folk can ask a quick question and hopefully get an answer.
ill go first..
the seller claims that these brake flexi hoses are for both ABS and none ABS.. would they work for my ABS BX, as i thought that the ABS flexis were super rare...

Re: Quick Question Thread
hmm it appears that for some reason, citroen decided to do what they do best and use some god unknown size.
from what i have looked up, the non ABS uses an M8 thread.. but the ABS one uses an M9 thread. how very annoying. wonder if i can get some made up.
more details on this thread here:
http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... 8&start=15
also, what size are the ball joint dust covers? on ebay they have 3 sizes.. small med and large. my guess is that they are going to be the small size as they look the same as the ones used on the old fiat pandas.

Re: Quick Question Thread
Agreed with Ken ABS flexi lines are different (bigger) than standard non ABS, i ordered some so called standard lines from ebay and they turned up as ABS brake hoses which did not fit.
Which ball joint are you refering to? Track rod end or lower wishbone?

Re: Quick Question Thread
My local factors only kept 2 sizes luckily the smaller ones fitted the rod ends and the larger ones fitted the lower wishbone ball joints.

Re: Quick Question Thread
actually, another small question. can anybody tell me which engine mounts fit my BX? i want to replace them all but there seems to be a few different types.
*ahem edit*
i have the bottom mount and gearbox's side engine mount (it looks a lot like the fiat panda engine mount ) however the engines (cam belt) side mount is odd.. i see 2 types of mount for the same side??
oh, are the brake discs and pads the same on ABS and none ABS? i have actually not had a rear wheel off yet, so i am not sure if it is drum or disc on the back! i see rear disc brake pads on ebay but not seen any shoes yet... anyway, i've not got that far yet.. starting from the front and working my way to the back.

Re: Quick Question Thread
I wouldn't bother changing the o/s engine mount unless it's seperated due to some clot jacking up the car by the engine.
All BX front discs are the same other than 16v ones which are of the vented type.
Discs on the rear, no drums, no shoes. Just pads.

Re: Quick Question Thread
I ordered Bölk timing belt set for Berlingo and inside was SKF tensioner, cambelt and some noname water pump. So you never know what you get from those brands that just pack things they buy from where-ever.
BX 4x4 estate, several BX Van's and some more normal estates in Finland.
