Excellent news the indie is over the moon with this car and said how nice it is. He is going to repair the leak and said it should pass the mot with two strut returns. There are two new Citroen ones in the boot so providing the emissions pass it should be road worthy on Monday!

Just drove it 5 miles back from the indie. I got some strange looks! It seemed stiff and awkward at first but after a mile or so it seemed to ease off and settle down. I got caught at some temporary lights and it cut out! I managed to get it started and blipped the throttle in neutral and slipped it into gear to get away but once it fully warmed up it was fine and drove nice. I noticed the box is hanging on slightly in gear again but this is its first drive in a while. Its now parked in its new home on our new drive where I can get to it and start work. Can't wait! :-) Oh yes, its got 12 months ticket as well and the indie was in raptures about it again. And another surprise, he found a complete set of bagged Citroen pipework in his stores which I bought off him. He's going to have a look after New Year and see what else he's got.

Very brave parking on the new block paving, hope you've got a drip tray under there ;-)

Err no, as long as it doesn't get too bad. Otherwise I might nick one of wifey's baking trays!

It's worth checking the fluid level isn't too high as this is something it does if so. High fluid can also give you a "snatch" as it changes gear rather than the smooth change we are used to. :)

The other thing that can affect it is the "kick-down" cable adjustment as this affects more than just "kick-down".

The last time I worked on the car (quite a while ago) I was flushing the gearbox oil. The gear change improved a lot but it still needs more flushing as it still looks like engine oil with just a slight hint of red! Now its been stood a year with not much being done and just the 5 mile run back from the indie it obviously needs some tlc. I started it this afternoon and let it warm up for ten minutes. I'm all keyed up for doing a bit but its bloody freezing outside. I think the first job will be getting the dash back in properly from when I repaired the speedo.

Has she come up well? Maybe give the wheel trims a bit of a spruce up with some silver paint and really go to town!

Not bothered with the wheel trims Tim. I have another set that are quite nice so just left the old ones on for now. The paint's not brilliant Tim but sort of shining now. [emoji4]
