Find your loose screw

Dropped a tiny screw in the dust?
Find it by dropping another (and of course watching where it bounces).
The brain takes a snapshot of what you've looking for, and enables you to identify the missing one.
Its called cognitive recognition - honest.
And hey - the worst that can happen is that you loose all your screws.

HI Gareth,

Done this trick many times, does not always work though.

But to the rescue comes my very strong magnet
"saved from an old audio speaker", and that works,
providing the offending screw/bolt/nut/washer
is actually on the ground, and not brass or good quality stainless steel.

I have abox of screws and odds and ends in my garage, which i rob if i loose one, then make it fit! :twisted:

i use my magnetic bits tray if i drop anyhting! jusst pass the tray over the area and hte screws mormally pop up! althoguh when i dropped the box of spares for the r/c truck it didnt work as most were either alliminium or titainium screws!

Does it work with screwdrivers, ratchets, sockets, hammers, lead lamps toolbox, BX................ :roll:

Not much good if you drop a BX bonnet....but then other methods of detection might be simpler.

I have a large collection of BX screws.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Last Saturday I found myself pulling plenty of BX screws with a magnetic jobby out of the subframe "wells" in the boot of my BX (they don't have the covers after Jon and I had to drop the subframe slightly to get a welding job done ).

I have plenty of screws loose, but most in the boot of my BX at the moment......
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

I know of a loose screw in front of my steering wheel........

If the loose screw is in front of the steering wheel, it's quite likely in the engine compartment,--- magnet required...
