It is usually a leaking return hose
If it's really the HC then Pleiades can supply repair kits.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

FOOL ! THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A BX UNLESS THEY BX RATED.
I asked for advice re my BX14 with rear height correcter leak failing MOT was told watch leakback pipe.
removed it and saw inch long rubber pipe connecter to H/C was swollen at end .blew on it to reservoir and noticed resistance .this is normal but i put in thin screwdriver to check rubber sound and accepted it !! only when i had CHANGED BOTH DIAPHRAMS and COVERS did i realise that that pesky rubber connecter had a split in it that only showed with LARGE screwdriver pushed inside. i had done all that work with £37 paid for bits sent from FRANCE!
moral must be check those connecters RIGOROUSLY . [-X
