BX Air Con
I've managed to source myself an air con system tonight but its missing a couple of bits namely the sump, 2nd fan and reciever.
Has anybody got a spare for sale?

which one of the plethora do you plan to fit it to?
Sumps are pretty easy to find in the scrappy, though messy to remove! I *may* have one in the garage!
Second fans arent too hard to find/fit and i have a twin fan shroud if you want it (you fit a standard fan motor and blades into it, but it needs the blades shortening).
Receiver, seem to think you can pick these up new for around £70, i deal with a guy who sells everything for the DIY fitter/servicer online but also welcome people round to his house and has sat on the phone for a good 2 hours explaining what everything does and exactly what needs doing to get it in! If i can find his details i will post!
He suggested that if your doing a retro fit, that you change all the seals and put a different gas in, i think convert it from R12 to R134, but im sure someone who really knows what im on about can tell you better!

Yes, it has a 2 in 3 chance of not being right. The standard one published is for a negative switched thermoswitch and more modern BXs have the switch in the positive line. This can make the wiring something of a nightmare. I've drawn out how I did it, together with the wires from the pressure switch, which takes a little understanding. I used the same techniques to wire Mr B's a/c car although on my own, I used the black box's control relay to drive another one so that it wasn't switching the clutch current and was therefore likely to last a lot longer. As far as I know, it is working fine so if you'd like a copy of the drawings, please let me know.

bad plan ian! If you start it in the winter you'll end up with no heater matrix for some or all of the process, which means no hot air
will dig out the fan and bring with! I have mine wired in using the stand alone harness of a PUG 309 Dturbo which means the fan circuit is totally isolated from the main electrics and will run regardless of the engine being on or off, IMHO a much safer alternative! The 405 Dturbo's have the same wiring setup and its quite easy to remove them from the main wiring loom without many tools and without cutting any wires! It also has a plug on it to connect to an aircon wiring loom which is a nice bonus in your case!

Vanny, the car is being taken off the road this winter to get it ready for the rest of its life with me! The fan will be very useful thanks!
I'll be buying something else shortly now in prep for the winter.
Any help is greatfully recieved!
