Thanks. Not for me

I want to stay as original as possible.

Take a look on Mister Auto (owned by PSA) for those belt/clutch items.
You can use OE part numbers on the site, as well as go in by model and year.
Plenty of choice of brands there.

Personal recc's fwiw...
- Valeo clutch (was original item)
- Contitech belts/kits (by Continental)

jamescarruthers wrote: Sat Apr 03, 2021 5:14 pm By the way, are those wheel trims original? I love your car but think those don’t really suit it, sorry.

Maybe someone can help you out with a set of BX ones?
I suspect they are not original

I have no love for them either.

:)
The type of trims are very rare now, unlike alot of the BX hubcaps they weren't affixed by the wheel bolts, but instead a plastic trim ring, with metal clips that held the trim itself on, they break/corrode and the trims fall off so are very hard to find.

Leboncoin or ebay france may help

They weren't Citroens finest hour, and look like generic Halfords one but they were fitted to BX and CX models!

Sam Skelton was desperately looking for some of those for his CX.
Messages left for Sam all over the place, but he only passes Planet Earth on rare occasions...

Sam Skelton would definitely buy a set of those, if he hasn't already found some.

Sam Skelton would certainly buy them for his CX! Sorry, haven't been about on here or many forums lately, life has got in the way. I can also be contacted on Facebook or on OH 7 NINE 8 ONE 116 OH SIX SIX (to fool the spam number harvesters online) if the time comes and I don't pop up. :D

Those trims are two part, a face plate and a ring which clips into the wheel. I'd be keen on both parts. Thank you.

And thank you Chris for the messages. I'm sure I'll pick the rest of them up soon!

Edit - hang on. I got overexcited and only looked at the pic above. The ones on it in the first page aren't the original type... :(

PM answered :).

Unsure of the wheel style etc, as I haven't the time to research at the moment.
I hope to have some free time in 2-3 weeks to look into this. Then the trims are on the "to go" list

Is Robert’s motorworks a Citroen specialist? Be warned that very few garages know how to deal with a BX these days and could cause more harm than good, especially to a car with so little wrong with it as this.

I’m located in Leyton E10 and know the mechanics of BXs inside out if you’re this side of London and need any advice etc

Enjoy!
Sorry - missed this

Yes, Roberts Motorworks was my BX / CX etc specialist back in the day. Though they see less of the older cars now, and the son has taken over from the father.
Sadly when I visited my experience was more of a money making machine than the customer based service they used to supply. So they wont get to work on my BX

I am in Hainaut / Chigwell a lot over the coming weeks, though in my Landrover until my BX Cam belt has been replaced.
Always happy to meet and chat when I have the BX fully mobile :)
