Spotting a BX is getting a very rare thing.

Tell us about BXs you have spotted on the road, or BXs/parts spotted for sale including eBay finds.

Its astonishing how the numbers of BXs' on the road have dropped over the last 3-4 years, over the last three weeks i've been to Mancs twice, Liverpool, Wrexham and Shrewsbury today {combination miles of well over 1000miles} and didn't see a single one. To think some of the diesel ones were capable of epic mileages, where have they all gone so quickly.

There are 37033 of BXs' left in the UK apparently, can only think that quite a few of them are sorned/garaged.

I did 450 miles on Saturday.

I spotted a white diesel estate, a red diesel hatch and finally about 2 miles from home a red GTi 8v.

Interesting enough they were all driven by women.

Not a single wave from anybody!

So just how many of the 37,033 are still around that were registered in Feb 2005? I'd be prepared to bet it is now under 30,000.

I'm sure you're right Tom - they used to be quite common round here but some I used to see regularily have gone.

One of the problems is that people who buy cheap cars don't maintain them - and I expect many have been scrapped simply because 2 or 3 jobs neded doing for the MOT and the owner didn't want to pay and preferred to get another car.

Same goes for cheap new ones - they don't get maintained either - which is one of the reasons for their rapid depreciation.

That is the main reason. But some peeps cant be bothered to maintain them cheap or not. Like other cars, the BX will watch after you, if you watch after it.

Phil said he saw a white one from the train as it approached Wakefield yesterday lunch. Then my mate called in the evening to say he'd seen an immaculate white TZD in Wakefield about lunch time.

So how come I never see any :x

I cycle past 3 in sth London regularly on the way to work. One is obviously in the hands of an enthusiast, the others are also in good nick. Must flyer them and get them into the club.

There used to be loads round here, quite a few within a couple of miles of my house.
One`s disappeared, one I very rarely see, one gets garaged alternately with a Corsa, one I don`t see as my son has changed paper rounds, one (really rough, used by a window cleaner) disappeared a while back and two I`ve scrapped as they were knackered.

How few cars do you see in general that are on same plates as Bx's?

Not many as prices of modern 2nd hand cars are so cheap relative now.
