Spotting a BX is getting a very rare thing.
Its astonishing how the numbers of BXs' on the road have dropped over the last 3-4 years, over the last three weeks i've been to Mancs twice, Liverpool, Wrexham and Shrewsbury today {combination miles of well over 1000miles} and didn't see a single one. To think some of the diesel ones were capable of epic mileages, where have they all gone so quickly.
There are 37033 of BXs' left in the UK apparently, can only think that quite a few of them are sorned/garaged.

I'm sure you're right Tom - they used to be quite common round here but some I used to see regularily have gone.
One of the problems is that people who buy cheap cars don't maintain them - and I expect many have been scrapped simply because 2 or 3 jobs neded doing for the MOT and the owner didn't want to pay and preferred to get another car.
Same goes for cheap new ones - they don't get maintained either - which is one of the reasons for their rapid depreciation.

That is the main reason. But some peeps cant be bothered to maintain them cheap or not. Like other cars, the BX will watch after you, if you watch after it.jeremy wrote:One of the problems is that people who buy cheap cars don't maintain them - and I expect many have been scrapped simply because 2 or 3 jobs neded doing for the MOT and the owner didn't want to pay and preferred to get another car.

There used to be loads round here, quite a few within a couple of miles of my house.
One`s disappeared, one I very rarely see, one gets garaged alternately with a Corsa, one I don`t see as my son has changed paper rounds, one (really rough, used by a window cleaner) disappeared a while back and two I`ve scrapped as they were knackered.
