TZD turbo estate, green forSale with MOT & now with Pics

Post by DavidRutherford »

This

BX is about to be for sale.

Despite my rather poor write-up of this car when it was bought 3 months ago, it's turned out to be a very reliable car. Many of the faults with it have been fixed (like the rear arms, and the ride-height) and it now drives fairly well.

The only major thing that's still wrong with it is the tailgate. The nearside hinge is out of alignment, and needs a spot of welding to make it work properly. At the moment, the tailgate is a bit of an arse to close.

It does have the benefit of a fair deal of recent work, like the replacement head, timing belt, clutch etc.etc.etc.

I was considering keeping it myself, but I already have far too many vehicles, and hence it needs to go. I'll have some photo's up in the next day or two.

Still MOT'd until august, but the tax is just about to expire.

Worth £200 to anyone? can be taxed for a year at cost if wanted.

The body is straight.

The only real problems with the body are the tailgate, faded black on the door uppers, and that the rear bumper is a little loose on one side.

The other thing that makes the car look a little tatty is the front numberplate. Other than that, the Triton Green is in fairly nice condition. A wash and a polish and it would look really rather good.

The main reason for it's sale is that the current owner (friend of mine) simply doesn't like the car at all. The seats are too small and too soft for his liking, he doesn't fit behind the wheel very well, and he doesn't like the softness of the suspension. Each to their own I guess.

Black interior (with good glovebox) which although in need of a clean, is complete and in reasonable condition.

I can't remember if it's an ABS model or not. I don't think so, but will check.

With a bit of luck I'll have some photos this lunchtime, and will check on all these things.

It's sounding good to me :D A bit worried at the prospect of no ABS as I've had one of these before without it. Had a few unscheduled changes of underpants  But being in Triton green would go nicely with the XM.

Where about's is it?

Hmm I would rather not have ABS as every older car I have owned with it they have always been faulty or expensive

I know... I know.. My apologies.

I'm still waiting for a combination of car, camera and daylight to occur.

Hopefully, tomorrow.

Hah! Tomorrow indeed. What with work, travelling, broken camera, blah blah blah, it's taken me until now to get a camera, the car and some daylight together.

So, as promised:

Note the rather loose rear bumper on the offside.
Image

Front Fogs aren't fitted, but are in the boot.
Image

Tax on the screen is expired. There is another 11 months available at cost.
Image

Towbar fitted, ball and electrics are loose in the boot.
Image

Please note: comes with free added BXclub sticker for improved reliability
Image

This shows the tailgate misalignment fairly well.
Image

Engine. Err.... well, it's an engine. Actually, that's unfair. 1769ccTD is in fairly good condition. Starts and runs well, minimal smoke, etc.etc.
Image

£200 to take it away as is with MOT till Aug. £350 with the tax (11months)
