So have I.

However, the possibilities of car and gearbox ever meeting up are remote at best. :(

I suspect you are this cars' only real chance of ever seeing the road again!

Just to move it in it's current state would be almost impossible other than with a Hiab and chains through the roof.

Have to confess I haven`t seen it in it`s current state but I`d bet that I could winch it onto my truck (once it returns from MOT and service) without too much trouble if I had to.

Hmm, kind of tempting that Gaz but need to get the truck back before I can commit to anything.
If anyone else wants to save this and needs a hand shifting it I`m not too far from Telford and would willingly help out.

But.... what will you do about the engine hanging out? Given that the engine is mounted through the gearbox, without one fitted, the car is immobile.

I suppose you could fit a piece of box-section between the inner wings, and tie the engine up, but I wouldn't want to move the car like that.

I may have a TD gearbox that I thought I was going to need in the GT ages ago, but I didnt use it in the end as the clutch was the thing making the odd sounds. I know ive got two gearboxes, and when my brother was helping me carry them round the back of my house, he dropped one  I cant remember whether it was the TD one or the 1.9 carb one, but will have a look later. Also, Telford is not too far from me (I think :?: ) I work in Droitwich. If the gearbox is OK, then im quite happy to give someone a hand popping it in the car, perhaps with a new clutch..
