How do I get the heater dial panel off!?
Confession-time here, folks - I've read another thread on this forum explaing how to get this panel off, but I didn't get it! I've got as far as A) removing all three dials (ping! go the little spring-steel clips onto the floor...) B) removing the 2 grey screws (mine were Philips head, which was a bit of a surprise in view of the fact that all the other's I've met so far have been Star or Torx or whatever they're called...) C) pulling out the 2 vent grills and after peering inside the resulting hole - I'm stuck! What next!?

Grilles out, look down the hole. an inch down the hole, on the vertical surface there is a slot. Poke a wide screwdriver in and lever the clip inwards, toward the centre line of the car. Pull panel towards you. Repeat for other side. Disconnect lighter. If PCB marked "ELEDASA", modify before replacing.

NO! That is not it. I'll just have to find the correct posting...

This is quite a long thread but the data is about half way down page 2 posted by one Tomsheppard. The web reference no longer exists but the pictures were uploaded to a scandinavian site some time ago so if you really need a picture, googleit up.

See the drill hole that breaks the track between the 3rd and 4th pins (counting from right to left) ... as I see it this is the one to bridge ...
The little black panel looks like a thick film ... don't bridge that one...
damned if I can fine the Scandinavian website ....
Please correct me if I'm wrong ...

NO!
Link the gap in the track fourth from bottom beneath the black resistive track, then cut the thin vertical track below the left hand side of the black resistive track.
Thanks for the picture Doz!
Would earlier posters on this thread please amend their erroneous posts and then the mods could make this one a sticky if they feel so inclined.

Tom's right - worked well on mine and I found the full fan speed complete with relay above the steering column which worked despite about 15 years of idleness!
While you've got it apart it may be worth cleaning the contacts on the rheostat wiper and making sure its got enough tension.
If you are changing the bulbs its also worth checking they work before re-assembly as some can be a bit temperamental (in my case probably cheap and nasty)
