Not sure exactly what it is, or does....but it looks to be part of the cooling system, and seems like it would be pretty simple to replace with a suitable length of similar diameter rubber hose. It doesn't appear to have any special preformed bends etc., so a nice, easy swap job with a couple of new jub clips should see it right! :D

Its the hot coolant feed hose for the throttle housing heater.

Just looking at the photos can't believe my luck. Basically my Tzi19 is a pig to bleed the coolant system as it doesn't have the bleed screw next to the thermostat housing found on Tris and others I guess. The other day at the NSW french car day I came across a tzi19 with the same/similar black plastic thermo housing with bleed screw as shown the above photos. Tracked down the owner just today to ask (thanks Craig and Paul) whether it was a later tzi fitment or a modification but he was unable to cast any light on the subject.
Does anyone know whether the thermo housing shown which obviously to me, an uneducated Cit person is on a different head configuration to a tzi19s would fit my head and can I get one, anywhere, or is there another version of it to fit a mine? My favourite part supplier here in sydney could only offer a zantia one which doesn't quite fit. Any ideas? (and thanks Mulley)
cheers

Is it a leak off pipe??

Indeed, and they always split! Part of the design to be crap I think!

They are readily available and very cheap from the main stealer.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I bought a new one yesterday from Yeomans in Fareham (off the shelf) to replace one that had broken in the same place. Under £10 including VAT.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Just fitted the WTR pipe to the Gti, had to clean up the clamps a bit & ran the car, no leaks, so job done.

Had a look at the breather pipe on the turbo, access looks nigh on bleeding impossible, is there a solution to actually fitting this? There does look like there is a a jubilee clip on the bottom part of the hose which the pipe attaches to the plastic cylinder (where the dipstick goes into), however i cant see the head to undo the thing....grrrrr

Aha, just thought, i've got one of those bendy screwdrivers, i might be able to get at it with one of those....any thoughts?

Depending on the type of jubilee, a flexible hose-clip tightening tool might do the business, as you'll get better purchase on the hex-pattern sides of the screwhead. Laser do some relatively cheap ones - but the size is critical.

Ah it must be the original clip then - it hasn't got a head - its one of those Citroen special clips that can't really be re-used.

I stopped my TD leaking simply by putting a clip on the top end at the rocker cover joint rather than replace the hose which was slightly swollen and cracked.

Would a large zip tie be suitable, or should i try & fit a proper jubilee clip?
