Aye Dave, but the occasional 'high day' won't hurt it and it does them good to have a decent run out.mountainmanUK wrote:Whilst I agree fully about cars being actually used and driven, I can well understand Tims concerns about making a fairly long trip in a car which only does 20 mpg! I had no intention of selling it but Ian persuaded me otherwise, plus I know they will care for it and its better to be used than sat around doing nothing.Philip chidlow wrote:And you told me not to get rid of my TGS! Well, Tim, when a car has to go it has to go.
Ian will look after it...

Agree Dave, but its the SD1 spares day at Gaydon the following weekend, so it will get a run out then, mountainmanUK wrote:Whilst I agree fully about cars being actually used and driven, I can well understand Tims concerns about making a fairly long trip in a car which only does 20 mpg! Intermittent ABS fault
Strange suspension squeak which i'm sure will be an easy fix
Burning Oil
Other than that this car is 100% honest with new parts all over the place, arm bearings, full cooling system overhaul, cambelt, waterpump, Michelin tyres, fuel pipes, hydraulic pipes etc etc
Smooth as silk autobox and still pulls like a train

I'd consider going halves on the petrol Tim, if you'd let me sit in the driver's seat and rev the engine...tim leech wrote:It would get me there no questions, its the most reliable car ive ever owned, just that at 20mpg on a good day for it to sit in a field is a bit pointless, and if I can use a Citroen I will.

October or November, something like that. Think the tax is till then too. Being honest though i'm a little reluctant to get rid.
I'd NEED to know he was going to be made good again and I dont reckon theres too many people out there that would do it.
I've NO IDEA why but this car seems to have a hold over me like no other car i've ever owned.
